Hi everyone

Has anyone gotten gallbladder and bile duct disease after auto immune diagnosis, e.g. RA inflammatory arthritis etc.

Wondering if the two are related.

Many thanks for any feedback.

Interesting thought - I had to have my gall bladder removed before I got my RD diagnosis, but I would not be surprised if there was a connection.

Me too I had mine removed just before diagnosis

My Mum also had hers removed a couple of years before RA diagnosis. Hmm I wonder how it could be connected

Morning, I hadn’t really thought about the connection but on looking back my gallbladder op was cancelled on the morning of the op because of my jaw restriction. I kept visiting my gp but to no avail. The consultant said he would not operate until my jaw/ joints were investigated. A few months later and I was diagnosed with RA!

After starting on medication I finally had my op a year later, 2018.

I had mine removed a few years before I was diagnosed I did not know it could be connected to RA I just thought it was in the family

I had my gall bladder removed after RA diagnosis, but the problem existed before diagnosis. Polyps in the gall bladder. Not heard of link with RA but seems a few of us on here. Wonder what the % of total population is with gall bladder issues vs RA population.

I had my gallbladder removed before I was diagnosed with RA. Wow what a surprise to know so many people had the same thing.

Thanks for the responses...Maybe the culprit is inflammation it causes all sorts of issues. Also I've still got my gall bladder but prednisilone seems to set off an attack. I'm looking into bile salts, apparently when insufficient bile is produced it affects the digestive system, fatty liver, gallbladder sludge or stones. Milk whistle is also good for digestive health and protection. Just trying to work out this crap disease.
