No aches or pains. My elbows all eased and even my bad knee has improved ( helped by a big cushion to rest it in bed at night ) and I ended up doing around 12 km walking every day.
Because of there being no pollution.. my lungs cleared and I felt normal. It was good being able to have the sun and to breathe properly + have a few drinks. It would be cheaper if we were all prescribed a few weeks in the sun each year!! I m going to go back in November .

Glad you had a lovely time. I try to get a few cheap holidays during the year too. I'm away now in two weeks time and hope to go in September as well. I'm starting Humira soon so would like to ask what to do about the injections. Does anyone take them with them or wait until they return home. I hope you stay well all summer until you get away again.
The medication is alive; it must be kept from freezing and from temperatures over 18 degrees. 2 to 8 degrees is optimum. It is not going to work if it dies from freezing or from heat. Carry it in a suitable cool bag, as hand luggage. Have all the necessary documentation (Prescription and letter from your doctor) with you and inform the airline in advance.
It is very much easier not to take it with you!
Also, make sure you carry the prescription and original packaging for any painkillers that you take with you. Some countries don't allow our prescription painkillers so always check before booking your holiday.
Thanks for replying. I spoke to the rheumatologist nurse yesterday and put off the first injection until I return from holiday. Thanks for the information as I'll be better prepared for September😁
It's great that you had such a good time and that you feel so well. Like you, I'm solar powered so any holidays we can fit in we grab with both hands. Let's hope the weather is kind for us this summer
Pleased to hear the healing warmth of the sun did it's job! I used to be in far better condition pain-wise when I lived in a sunny country, just the humidity that did me in.
I hope your joints retain that goodness until your next sojourn in the sun.
Actually in the north of the island it is rarely hotter than 70°f...it's very green & the air seems very pure.......but there is a volcano there...don't know if that has pumped out any pollution recently!
We are in Tenerife at the moment,we have an apartment here. It’s strange my joints have never been so bad for so long. My feet are so swollen I can’t get my shoes on. I’m struggling with my hands I can’t get them to do anything because of the pain & swelling 😩. Sleep is being disturbed by the pain in my hips etc... I’m under a hell of a lot of stress so I think it’s that.
So sorry to hear you are suffering here in Tenerife Caza...yesterday I walked for about half an hour along to San Blas....could never walk for that long at home...admittedly had a cab home......but no nasty repercussions this morning!
How long have you been out here....it's not the after effects of the flight causing your pain is it?
Off to the local market this morning......sadly not a very good one mostly (unsuitable for UK) clothes ....I keep hoping they will get a fruit/veg stall, but no joy so far!
Hope you feel better soon....at least we are warmer than the folks in UK!
I,m in Golf del Sur...it has turned cloudy. Today, but still lovely & warm..the heating at the pool here goes off from May to October. So no swimming for me...far too chilly even with the sun on it all day.
I ve a timeshare up in Adeje.. am back there again in November.. but have just booked a cheeky cheap fare in june...cannot wait. Just back from my echocardiogram and its cold, miserable and grey.
My joints feel a bit different and uncomfortable when I am in the office working too. However, when I am out of air-conditioner room, I feel very much better.
Well...only back home a couple of days...didn't have the heating on last night... and bang. Back comes my poxy painful knee. Am really lucky to be going to Spain next week again. I cant wait for the heat !
I actually find both heat and warmth affect my joints. A swim in freezing ocean is invigorating and my aches go, like a ice bath that elite athletes have. Then the warm sun does wonders as well. Who knows what works best, just one day at a time
I agree. I came back last week.. my breathing is still great, thanks to the lovely clean air in Tenerife... but my bad knee is crippling me already thanks to the cold.
