Suggestions for relief from plantar fasciitis would be very much appreciated guys.
Can’t believe my luck... finally got relief from pain in my knee and now both heels are excruciating. I’ve tried massage and exercise (physio), tennis ball, Powergel 2.5% and frozen peas.

Hi, get some proper insoles made for your foot biomechanics. Maybe manual therapy like chiro would also help with recovery. Plantar fasciitis is always a sign of wrong foot movement. As long as you don't sort the underlying problem it will stay unfortunately
Hi, I’ve been wearing biometric/bespoke insoles for a year now. I got them because I was suffering with my ankle tendons. They were brilliant but I had a fall recently and a MRI showed a torn ligament in my ankle and a hole in one of the bones. They’re too painful to wear now and was told by orthopaedic surgeon not to use them. They cost a small fortune so hoping to wear them again in the future.
Have you spoken to your doctor about getting custom made insoles....no matter how expensive insoles are if they don’t address your actual problem they will probably do more harm than good........which is presumably why the orthopaedic surgeon advised you not to use the ones you’ve got?
Didn’t he give you any advice as what you can use? Maybe you need extra physio & could then have insoles made at the hospital?
Unfortunately feet change after an injury & different aids are needed.
Good Luck...sore feet are a curse aren’t they?
Wear very soft rubber soles flip flops or sandals at all times when walking. Even getting out of bed to use the toilet.
Put your feet up as often as you can.
It does take time to get better........
I have had planters fasciitis two times and both times were the result of walking on hard surfaces for long periods without any footwear.
Just the memory of that pain makes me never forget to put on flip flops even getting up at night to use the toilet.
Am sorry to hear that you have had this problem for years. I did read that it could turn chronic and that frighten me enough to do everything I could to help get better.
I should of mention that I used crutches for weeks as well as soft footwear.
The worst painful time was trying to put my feet on the floor after laying or sitting down for a while. I could not stand or walk without them.
I made myself a walking stick and use it all the time so I don't put to much pressure on my feet when standing up.
He hasn’t. He doesn’t know the pains worsened since I last saw him in January. He’s planning to operate on my knee because the knee cap is on the side and most of the cartilage has now gone due to osteo. I thought my feet were painful due to my gait caused by the pain in my knee. I think I’ll email his secretary and explain how bad it is because I don’t see him until May.
It’s so frustrating because I finally got RD under control with Baricitinib, after 5 years of trying different meds and now this.
Hi had reflexology years ago after cortisone injection helped one foot but not the other....really helped...and am now having reflexology to help my OA muscle pain.....good luck
Calf stretching excercises, insoles from orthotics dept, never going around with no shoes on which I always did and running trainers as advised by podiatrist. He said even sketchers are no good as too flexible, they did help
I have what I guess can only be described as chronic plantar fasciitis in both feet, after being diagnosed with the first foot almost 5 years ago I also developed back problems which like you my GP put down to my gait due to the plantar fasciitis, this wasn’t actually correct as within 5 months I had had a discectomy and another disc shaved, soon after it then developed in my other foot. I have had shock wave therapy in them which didn’t help, the only thing I found which helps are inserts in my shoes which I have in all my shoes and even slippers, I get up in the night/morning and I can barely walk due to stiffness from oesteoaethritis, and PF, I also suffer from Psoriatic Arthritis, I have flat feet, bunions and all sorts of bones poking up along with over pronation, so a good shoe insert is definitely worth looking into as they have really helped me to get about.
