New Bioligic Kevzara Sarilumab

Had my first injection today of yet another biologic. I am praying this one works, otherwise, Plan B look into other methods! You can't help but feel anxious.

I am still tapering off prednisone at 20mg tomorrow.

Although I don't like taking it, it has got me through.

Wishing everyone starting a new med the best and may it achieve the desired effect. I shall keep you posted through this next phase.

Stay well all.

Hi Hessie5

I've tried Sarilumab. It did start helping me however it dropped my neutrophils to a dangerous level so I had to stop. They've started me on abatercept now. Today will be my final loading dose of fortnightly infusions then it will be monthly. Fingers crossed we get some relief xxx

I have everything crossed that I can. It took me a while to find the right drug combination. Believe.

Good luck with the new med Hessie. I was hoping it might be suitable for me if baricitinib stops working, but after reading about it I think not. :-(

Keeping all my fingers crossed that this one is great for you. Just started new treatment myself so know what you mean about being nervous. I’m only 10 days in on baricitinib and I think things are getting better swelling has gone down loads in my knees and hips, pain is still there but better than it was. I’m only on 2mg a day because of immune system problems but I will take any improvement atm.

How are you managing on the Kevzara? I just received my first dose and looking for user feedback. Side effects? Effectiveness? How long before seeing results? Any news would be appreciated.

Hi - hope this email finds you better. I did a response to your earlier post. As mentioned, I had only 3 injection to date. I am now taken off it. It was good at reducing inflammation. I didn't have any side effects. Results take time so not immediate. As said no longer on this biologic from yesterday. Hope it works for you.

Thanks. Sorry about duplicate request. I’m in so much pain that I’m not thinking clearly. Sorry it didn’t work for you. I’m hopeful.

Totally understand I am there too, can bearly hold things. Can you get some Prednisone? I started yesterday as my pain was far too intense for me! Although still sore, pain slowly decreasing. Take it easy.
