Kevzara

Does anyone have experience with Kevzara? I'm really struggling with the side effects with prednisone that I've been on for about 6 months.

She was asking if I was taking Kevzara or had had heard of it. (No was my answer to both?’s) Says No more side effects from prednisolone, hair loss, weight gain, fatigue

I wrote to my Rheumy that I had to increase the Pred back to 10 and his response was that we will discuss using Kevzara shots at my appointment on Aug. 27. To be prepared for that appointment, I am gathering data on Kevzara.

I was wondering if any of you are now just on Kvezara having tapered off of prednisone or prednisolone? I am nearing the last taper off prednisone and would love to know what to expect with this next step. Thanks for any input.

I have been on Kevzara injections for about 3 months but started having allergic reactions,so have discontinued those. They did not seem to help with tapering the prednisone. While taking the Kevzara I had a major flare and had to return to 10mg. I have to say, I feel closest to normal at 10 mg.

I am on prednisone and Kevzara so am tapering more quickly than others due to dramatic bone loss since starting steroids. I also have arthritis so it is hard to tell PMR pain from OA pain. Tylenol Arthritis often takes away residual pain but not always.

If so a biologic, Kevzara would be use . I had tried 10 mg for a couple weeks before but no results. Well the 20mg did smash the inflammation. So I am now on a trek to 10mg in a couple months. Reducing 2.5m every two weeks. I the inflammation returns then Kevzara .

I've been down to zero prednisone for about three weeks, still on Kevzara. I have had Covid for a week and tonight my shoulder hurts. Could this be a flare?

Sarilumab (Kevzara) is mentioned as possibly being released by NICE for PMR patients next year. I’m not sure how accurate that is.

Question for those using Kevzara: We’re going to be going on a couple of trips and I’m wondering how to deal with my used syringes. What they send me are not the pen type of injection, but a syringe that has ‘finger grips’ that are 1.5 inch wide.

The only thing I can guess is that the Kevzara that I've been on is finally working. I am still taking 9mg of prednisone but now I think I'll taper faster then I have been to see how I do on just Kevzara. I hope it works.

Still on the Kevzara, however.

I started on 15 mg of Prednisone and now, with the help of Kevzara, have reduced to 5mg a day. I have had little or no pain while doing a rather fast reduction but recently have had infrequent temporal pain with no other symptoms.

Who has had experience with Kevara? I have been approved for the "free" program, but I am hesitant.

I tried methotrexate and Kevzara to help me taper but had to quit each for various reasons. When I stopped taking them my PMR raged back and I had to go up again to control the pain. I am now at 7 and 1/2 mg per day the lowest I have ever been.

I'm on prednisone 7.5mg, methotrexate 12.5mg and just took my first injection of kevzara. Praying I can get into remission quickly.

If anyone knows anything about Kevzara please let me know. My last attempt at decreasing the pred. hasn't gone so well. I am down from 25mg last June to 7 mg. Then Everything went badly and I had to go back up to 10 mg this past month. Thanks for any responses.

Am currently on 4 mg. as well as Kevzara injections and methotrexate. I am having hip pain and thigh pain that actually affects my gait. Does not feel like the PMR hip and back pain that I have had from the beginning. My Rheumy says he doesn't know what else to do.

I was diagnosed with PMR in July 2024 and am taking 12.5 mg prednisone as well as Kevzara. I have always been a poor sleeper but the steroids have made it even harder. The typical solutions such as Unisom, Tylenol PM, Melatonin etc just amp me up more.
