Kevzara

I wrote to my Rheumy that I had to increase the Pred back to 10 and his response was that we will discuss using Kevzara shots at my appointment on Aug. 27. To be prepared for that appointment, I am gathering data on Kevzara.

I've been down to zero prednisone for about three weeks, still on Kevzara. I have had Covid for a week and tonight my shoulder hurts. Could this be a flare?

The only thing I can guess is that the Kevzara that I've been on is finally working. I am still taking 9mg of prednisone but now I think I'll taper faster then I have been to see how I do on just Kevzara. I hope it works.

Sarilumab (Kevzara) is mentioned as possibly being released by NICE for PMR patients next year. I’m not sure how accurate that is.

Who has had experience with Kevara? I have been approved for the "free" program, but I am hesitant.

Question for those using Kevzara: We’re going to be going on a couple of trips and I’m wondering how to deal with my used syringes. What they send me are not the pen type of injection, but a syringe that has ‘finger grips’ that are 1.5 inch wide.

I'm on prednisone 7.5mg, methotrexate 12.5mg and just took my first injection of kevzara. Praying I can get into remission quickly.

If anyone knows anything about Kevzara please let me know. My last attempt at decreasing the pred. hasn't gone so well. I am down from 25mg last June to 7 mg. Then Everything went badly and I had to go back up to 10 mg this past month. Thanks for any responses.

Dorset lady advised me to open a new post regarding the yes/ no’s/ maybe s of actemra, kevzara, tocillizumab and sarilumab as medications for PMR. In stead of prednisolone/ prednison. Thanks Dorset lady. may I ask to add comments re. methotrexate too….

I tried methotrexate and Kevzara to help me taper but had to quit each for various reasons. When I stopped taking them my PMR raged back and I had to go up again to control the pain. I am now at 7 and 1/2 mg per day the lowest I have ever been.

Have just had second injection of kevzara. Pain is more manageable but after each injection I have had a horrible chesty cough. I just wondered if anyone else has had this?

I was diagnosed with PMR in July 2024 and am taking 12.5 mg prednisone as well as Kevzara. I have always been a poor sleeper but the steroids have made it even harder. The typical solutions such as Unisom, Tylenol PM, Melatonin etc just amp me up more.

Am currently on 4 mg. as well as Kevzara injections and methotrexate. I am having hip pain and thigh pain that actually affects my gait. Does not feel like the PMR hip and back pain that I have had from the beginning. My Rheumy says he doesn't know what else to do.

I found an article today that originates from the U.S. which says a drug call Kevzara has been developed for PMR. Anyone heard of it?

I'm in the U.S. getting Kevzara (third injection is this Tuesday i.e. week six). I am grateful I was allowed to try Kevzara after 9 years on prednisone and never being able to get below 5 mg without a flare amongst other reasons.

Has anyone tried this Biologic called Kevzara? My Rheumi says its a new treatment for PMR

The plan is to get me on Kevzara. Until then, 4 + weeks on 15 mg pred. For the first two weeks, I have felt better than I have in weeks - months? Now the 15 doesn't seem like enough. It's the weekend so I can't communicate with doc. Would upping to 20 be smart?
