Hi I got a steroid injection 5 days ago and last night I have got a horrible pain in left arm I can’t move it. Does anyone know if you can get oral steroids after such a short time after injection.
I can’t go over Christmas in this pain. My rheumy advice line takes 3 days to return a call to advice line. Dr doesn’t like to give anything without consultant giving go ahead.
Up to my limit on pain killers any advice would be appreciate

Why do you think its inflammation causing the pain? Is your shoulder hot, red or swollen? Or was your steroid injection into your shoulder as could be a steroid flare, which usually go after a couple of days.
As if pain is from something else, like a trapped nerve, then steroids may not help at all. As well as your help line it's probably also worth booking to see yor GP. I can understand that GP might be reluctant to treat anything to do with your RA without consultant say so. But this could be completely unrelated to your RA, like a frozen shoulder.
