you naughty naughty boy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: WELL TOLD DOC... - NRAS
you naughty naughty boy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t think it’s a good idea to take too much...... bad boy!
Why go against medical advice? Seems stupid to me. You are on the net, try looking up high sodium levels.
idwill i am being at every meal i do look up what i do play one against the other i enjoy a meal without being sick/pain/choke as against to much sodium to answer your ??????which way would you play it i am telling you the way it is with ME I DONT SAY EVERYBODY DO BUT 3/4YRS OF BEING SICK TO TELL YOU TRUTH I AM SICK OF IT
What dose do you normally take
2X2 20MG A DAY dosent work so i double what a relief ate a meal dropped me back down sick again back to mushing all food
If omneprazol is not controlling your symptoms are you being offered anything else to help ?
As an ex (or possibly still) real hippy from the 60s I never came across anta-acid highs - please tell me what on earth does taking extra ones do?
Too high a dose can cause your electrolytes to become imbalanced Leviset. In my h's case it was a gradual build up over time but it depleted his magnesium, potassium & calcium but there are others problems it can cause quite rapidly, as Paul has been told sodium is of particular concern for him, that omeprazole will lower it. One symptom of low sodium causes one of the things he increased his dose for, nausea, but it can cause other serious complications in a very short space of time.
Doesn’t sound much of a trip to me - think I’ll stick with smoking banana skins.
On that note I have friend who we now call “Banana Mick” whose GP told him he was a bit low on his Potassium and to eat some bananas - he went and ate 20/day for 4 weeks and ended up in A&E with his Potassium levels gone through the roof; I had a good source of banana skins for 4 weeks though.
I'm not going to bleat on about it but you did quadruple your dose off your own back so it was to be expected really wasn't it Paul? So rather than making light of it maybe be guided of the risks highlighted by your GP & Pharmacist & don't "sneak" any more than you are prescribed.
Did you ask if there was something that could have in addition to help to give the same effect you had from increasing your omeprazole?
hi nomore put in reply to mmrr whats going on i wouldn't treat it lightly but went back to normal yesterday and you gussed it sick again so catch 22 would not have enough tabs to that dose for long anyways but it did prove i could hold a meal down i cant understand not losing weight
Yes, but you could cause no end of problems by increasing your dose. If your GP increases it that's one thing, he'll arrange blood tests to ensure that all's well. I think it's worth remembering that PPI's such as omeprazole are like any other med & can cause harm if the directions given to you by your GP aren't followed.
Hi, I was recently given Ranitidine. Unfortunately my body reacted pretty bad , in that my Platelet fell to 12 k. I have ITP and RA. After stopping Ranitidine, my platelets have gone up to 50k. Omeprazole too doesn't agree with me.
how you coping then padram gavision????
I take papaya leaf tablet called Caripill, for maintaining my platelets. I live in India. I don't take any meds for RA , as my platelets fall to dangerous levels. I follow an anti inflammatory diet, and that has helped in keeping my inflammatory markers almost normal. By this I mean : No Gluten, sugar, milk, peanuts, cashew, some veggies like cabbage . I am a vegetarian. Papaya leaf powder by itself gives me stomach burn, and Ranitidine was given for that. But now I only take more of natural yoghurt, home made. I am highly sensitive to allopathic drugs.
Some of us get very lucky, ;-). Actually I am now much better than I have been, in a long time. I also take raw veggie juices, helps in being quite energetic. Even though platelet count hovers around 50 k, I am able to walk a km or two every alternate day.
i have been one of the lucky ones and if we better this one it will be god send dont think theres any beating arthritis but hopefully keep what mobility i have comical the other day I WAS talking about flying here flying there wife scuppered me WITH you cant walk BUT STILL RENEWED PASSPORT
Ha ha, great ! I like this attitude! I was almost bed ridden 4 years back, because ITP complicated matters. Got this disorder because I took Yellow Fever Vaccine, before visiting Africa. Later through my own googling, found that people with RA should not take LIVE VACCINES. My RA is another story. Wrong diagnosis for a very long time. But, now am almost living a normal life. So, here's good luck for your flying trip!
Two 'thoughts' strike me here Paul. One IF you are suffering Heartburn/ Stomach pain, despite taking Omeprazole, then something might actually be wrong. Worth checking surely. Secondly, assuming nothing is actually wrong, then clearly this drug is NOT working, for you. Either way, I would advise, you to speak to, your Doctors/ Consultants. After all, just Pumping, increasing amounts of chemicals into your body, can't be Good for you.

hi andy it did work when "overdosed" but told those who prescribe it wernt pleased to say the least but there eat a meal without ickying stopped it now would not have enough tab to continue anyways also felt sodium load ok now wont do it again thanks all again for interest

A couple of years ago my heartburn was horrendous. So my doc recommended 2 Ome's a day BUT only for 1 month.
I can relate to that 'icky feeling'. I am on MTX which has given me my life back. But I need to take folic acid every day (not MTX day) to keep the nausea down. The day after MTX can be really tough nausea-wise, so what works for me is: chillaxing as much as I can till around 4pm and a cup of 'proper coffee' in the morning and one in the afternoon.
I'm also playing the game of coming off steroids. Coated steroids have been a blessing.
glad your winning with most of your meds i have not yet had a diagnosis for rheumy or whatever so i am in limbo 15 nov i go for appointment but been told once that i did not have it well could go on on and on but wont only thing i am worried about is it not being treated right and it crippling me
If you feel your not being listened to then the number 1 rule is to raise a fuss. Shout from the roof tops. My local hospital said there was nothing wrong with me but I was seen by an inexperienced 10 year old.! I told my GP, she screamed and I was sent to see the Prof at the nearest teaching hospital which is outside of my area. I have remained under their care ever since. 'No way jose' would I go back to my local hospital.
Good luck

what happened was due to my own doctor i think the request to them was his opinion that i did not have it why o why i stayed with him after that i must be daft no bloods taken no xrays just physical exam
The problem you could hit if you take too many omeprazole (or any other PPI) is lack of stomach acid to digest food properly, leading to vomiting and the lack of ability to break down food and absorb nutrients.

you have hit the nail on thehead em iam now being treated for exactly what you have said but they say its due db2 gastroparesis just got the diagnoses friday after 2/3 years of being sick nearly everyday where have been you got it in one all the best em
Really it should have been diagnosed a lot quicker - I knew someone who had exactly the same problem and it took ages before it was diagnosed in her case too

em do you know her treatment as she got better sos for going on im not going to worry but reading it b naughty
Hey it’s not a problem and you aren’t “going on” 😀 this is what forums are for. She did immediately get better once they realised the cause. I know how you must feel as she said she thought she was a gonner, imagining all kinds of fatal diseases as she lost weight without trying and was constantly being sick. Mind, she was 80, so I guess she was somewhat justified in worrying !
I’m not quite sure how she managed to get her monthly dose effectively doubled and nobody realised, least of all her, but yeah once she stopped the second tablet she was fine 😀

hi em glad i "BUMPED' Into you so 2 tabs to much for her they its down to db2 but when i was in hospital cellulitis /sepsis boy was i in the doda but they hauled outwith what looked like a badly burned leg took a few months to resolve and i think it came from that byeeeeeeeeeee
Thx for the compliment yeah I’m *still* trying to get an MRSA infection healed which began in January! Obviously all I can make are suggestions; I don’t know all the medical history and haven’t got the advantage of being on the spot if you like. You would *think* the doctors involved would have the best chance of diagnosing a patient, but not all doctors are gods 😀

agree with all said em point with my surgery if godaustin points the way they all follow even hospital em they dont think for themselves cause of it may disagree with his diagnoses any way em see i can help you oviously on a/bs for mrsa i found flucloxacillin a life saver when i had cellulitus/sepsis put me on drip within hours started feeling better and the fire in leg cooled but it went on for 14 days leg was in mess but the GIRLS made me right with compression bandages all in all 4 /5 months to get right so i dont know what your taking or wether fclox/cillin work for you all best Em let me about your illness IF YOU WANT PAUL
That would be lovely Paul 😊 just if you have the time though. My MRSA has had 2 negative swabs now, but the problem with MRSA is you think it’s gone but a tiny amount seems to remain and it keeps emerging for quite some time.
Also I got a complication from it where my legs swelled up rock hard and the skin ‘dimpled’. I followed a link on Wikipedia and found out this is a serious condition which kills people every year - figures quoted at 19,000, but I’m presuming these are stats from the USA.
The consultant wants all trace of the rash gone before I can get the baricitinib, and given the length of time between getting an appointment with him, I’ll be in my dotage before I finally get the stuff!
I was on 8 x 500mg fluclox for two weeks, which did nothing at all, followed by a double dose of erythromycin for another
fortnight and finally 2 weeks on doxycycline as I had picked up a secondary infection, with a high temperature and wheezing plus lowered oxygenation. The next step would have seen me admitted to hospital on IV vancomycin. Hospitals can prescribe drugs only allowed to be given out by hospitals to keep some back so they have something that hasn’t become immune to staph aureous (MRSA).

plenty time for you Em do you think you should have been in earlier on iv drip seems to me yes and it only way to beet it where are you know em do you feel ill all over show maybe please no trouble to me i was scared of that with leg with fevers shakes talking daft not much better now with in another world i was pauls hopeing for best Em KEEP IN TOUCH IF YOU HAVE TIME
It isn’t the infection that bothers everyone now, though. It’s the fact the wounds/ulcers haven’t healed up. In fact I’ve got a new breakup of spots on one leg, so I know they wouldn’t authorise it now - and I have to admit there are sensible reasons for this. However - not sure if I mentioned already - my GP got in touch with the hospital and said I needed seeing sooner than this and I got a letter with an appointment for last Thursday, only to receive another the day before, telling me it had been avoidably postponed - to the day after the original appointment. Then, I get yet another letter, now saying I have to wait until APRIL to see the consultant or registrar! It makes you lose the will to live.

come on Em chin up whose there with you family friends care peeps hope i am not poking nose in tell me off Em if i am just want you to some support for you paul
Thanks Paul that’s really nice of you 😊. I’ve discovered the way to get an appointment. I’d forget the formal approach via the GP, phone up and ask to speak to their secretary. Having been given this appointment for April, I found out via the consultant’s secretary that there were 3 appointments I could have gone to TODAY and 3 more next Wednesday, so I’ve booked for next week!
So why was I put back to April? ! Especially after a request for an urgent appointment by my GP! I couldn’t go today as I had a courier delivery of MTX arriving and I also thought another week of toothpaste treatment might help this recent breakout die down.

great news doesn't get your goat up when you find out that you had to do it yourself and find appointment glad for you
