Turmeric and warfarin

I have bought turmeric and now discover I shouldn’t take it as I am on warfarin.. I told my rheumatologist and he was ok with it. Has anyone taken turmeric whilst on warfarin and what effect does it have?

I don’t take warfarin, but I do take turmeric. I think you were probably told that because turmeric can also act as a blood thinner. I do bleed easily—-even my Enbrel injection site bleeds, I think because of the turmeric.

I took a jar of turmeric (not in one go), but found no benefit whatsoever.

I use a supplement that has it and a natural pain reliever with it. I take one everyday and have for years. When I don’t, I notice a big difference.

Useful to know as I have a raised CRP which, if it’s inflammation, is being masked by sciatica.

Yes, sciatica is a devil. I have scoliosis which causes sciatica pain for me too. Mine was quiet for about a year but has been making itself known again recently. I hope you are able to find something to help your inflammation.
