Yes, look up golden paste, can't recommend enough, along with my regular meds and Drs approval.
I asked my rheumy nurse about curcumin because I had read in the patient information that you should check before taking supplements. My rheumy checked with the hospital pharmacist who said that as there is not research on what if any interactions it may have with my RA drugs, it was best avoided. I'm on Hydroxychloroquine, Leflunomide and Methotrexate. Not very helpful to anyone I know, but I've erred on the side of caution.
I asked my rheumatologist about using it and she told me off for wasting her time with a question she couldn't answer as she had no experience of it! A friend on a Facebook page I belong to swears by the Golden Paste recipe and has taken it every day since she began with RA. Of course she is on two other DMARDs as well, but on low dose, and seems to have her RA well under control. I ended up giving it a try, but as I was on methotrexate at the same time and suffering with the nauseous side effects I ended up not being able to face the turmeric and stopped taking it.
