Have you tried icing it? A pack of frozen peas wrapped in a cloth....no longer than 15 minutes .......might help.
Alternatively some find heat...a hot water bottle .......eases things.
Hi Have you tried applying ibuprofen gel? Sympathies.
Yes using the gel not helping though 😩
I think the best bet for this evening may be to distract yourself with some compulsive TV viewing. Netflix/ DVDs, anything that is all involving. My OH likes a wheat bag on his ankle. Comforting!.All the best.
Steroid injection is great for a while I find nothing helps apart from that and feet up rest x
Somebody else said RICE (rest-ice-compression-elevation). I kinda like that way to remember it! M x
I wear Hotter Leanne shoes - a pair for indoors only and two pairs for outdoors. They hold my ankle in alignment more than any others. The velcro brace and orthotics from hospital didn't do the job - couldn't get shoes on with them! Surgeon refused ankle replacement until I'm older.
I suffered with a painful ankle and foot that progressively worsened. I received two steroid injections that did little to ease the pain. Two different Doctors suggested bone fusion for my feet. Turns out I have arthritis in the talus area of the ankle and flat feet that exacerbated the condition. Three things have helped me to return to 85% mobility with limited pain. Im 66 years old and due to high blood pressure cannot take ibuprofen. I purchased MBT rocker sneakers which provided immediate relief, I also soak my feet in epsom salt every night for 20 minutes (no matter how tired I feel) but the best improvement came from taking 1500 milligrams of Turmeric capsules twice a day. Within two weeks the pain subsided (not completely) but with appreciable difference. I also take approx. 1 tylenol extra strength in the morning and one in the evening. This has worked for me. I wish you the best and trust I "know the feeling " and it aint pretty.
One more pain relief I used icy hot to rub on ankle when they hurt.
Hi there. I've had chronic pain in the burser next to my ankle/heel bone. Nothing helps. I've asked for a steroid shot but no one wants to give it to me saying that there is a risk that the achillies tendon close by may rupture. Has anyone else had injection and is the risk really as high as they say. I've had a neuroma removed last week fm ball of the same foot and hoping when this recovers the very inflamed burser in my heel will settle. Who knows but I'm so sick and tired of all this pain.
