PIP FACE TO FACE ASSESMENT,

My Pip form was obviously received by 11th may (not that actually acknowledged it). Just today 22nd may I received an appointment for a face to face assesment for 31st may!

I now have 9 days to arrange for either my sister or daughter to accompany me. My sister is on holiday from 26th , my daughter is full time at uni and doing “masters” on health visiting plus she has two young children. I have only one chance to rearrange appointment, I don’t really want to rearrange the appointment but I do not want face 2 face assesment without support. I remember only too well my last face 2 face assesment.

Jenny

You're right Jenny, do not do it without support! Best of luck x

Thanks Kerena, I’ll wait till I get support, am not going in there on my own, that’s for sure.

I just made that mistake with esa, so feel for you. You couldn't make it up honestly (well unless you're an assessor!). Hope it goes ok for you x

PS my pip assessor was a lovely lady with good knowledge of RD so not all bad, fingers crossed.

Last time i had face 2 face assement which was 2 years ago, it took them around 9 weeks to arrange it.

Thanks Ajay575

Hi Jenny,

Can i just suggest one small thing and that is to record the interview on your phone or other media you may have?

My PIP was refused and i lost points due to a comment that the assessor put in that was totally inaccurate and not what i told her at all. They will always take what the assessor says if you challenge the result so have evidence of what was actually said by recording it.

Be honest and tell the assessor you are recording it just in case you cant remember what was said and they shouldn’t object if they have nothing to hide!

Good luck Hun. Mwah !

X xx

Unfortunately if I do that, I have to inform assessor and also provide them with copy of recording.

Thank you xandii

If you decide to phone and change the appointment, try to rearrange the date at the same time. That way you can choose an appointment time/date that is suitable for you and whoever accompanies you. Good luck xx

I managed to change appointment date, so it’s now 8th June at 3.30pm. My sister will be with me. I have asked for a female assessor. It’s your pot luck who you get as an assessor. Thank you jewels94

Glad you managed to change it to a more convenient date xx

The first guy I spoke to on the phone was lovely. I then texted my sister, who was sleeping, thankfully she got back and okayed the 8th June. Phoned back to confirm change of date and time, I think I spoke to the wicked witch of the east, what an attitude!!!

Wow, that’s not good. As if we’re not stressed enough as it is when we have to phone them. Best of luck with your assesment xx

Hi

I only got 8 days notice I put it down to bank holiday weekend and mine was also at home it was my first time I had two ppl came and they turned up two hours early got txt a week after saying would let me no in decision in 4 weeks so I’m just waiting for the brown letter now 😳

in reply toNuttyshirlz

That’s pretty sneaky sending two assessors ( if you weren’t made aware of this, even if you were aware, why would they feel the need to send two, never mind the fact they arrived 2 hours early). I wouldn’t entertain them to be honest.

Fingers crossed Nuttyshirlz that you are awarded pip.

I changed my PIP review, because of the location of the assessment centre though. You're allowed one change so I'd do it, I understand your reason, I wouldn't be assessed without my h or someone who knew me well accompanying me.

All the best Jenny & let us know how you get on.

in reply tonomoreheels

I will do, and thank you

I managed to change the assessment to friday 8th June . I was looking up all the paperwork I had been sent from “benefits and work”. I came across this “ Face to face assessment record sheet”. I was never given this form to fill in, so I am absolutely fuming about this.

Jenny x
