Occupational therapist day went all way on two buses taking nearly two hours each way to find my appointment had being changed and they had sent me a letter. Having got home to find no letter has turned up. Guess my mind reading not working today. I’m shattered next appointment will ring to make sure it’s not changed again x

I'm so sorry to hear this - what a blow to have made such an effort all for nothing. I'd have been raging! Waste of money on bus fares too. Definitely a good idea to ring first next time. I hope you can relax this evening.
Yeah I no I’ve being before but the lass said sorry letter in post. But like I said could have rang me knowing letter not get to me before my appointment. X
This happened to my sons rheumy appointment. I phoned the appointments office and the consultant and they quickly arranged another one . It doesn’t make up for the effort you had to make to get there but I hope you get sorted with another appointment as soon as possible.
Oh yes I’ve next one sorted but I will ring them on the day to make sure it’s still on. I’ve not had problems with my rheumy mine email me when my nurse was ill x🙂
So your crystal ball was on the wonk that day? It's unbelievable how badly the chronically ill are treated. Of all the people who should understand our nasty disease the NHS should be the best and they're not. Your time and the efforts mean nothing and they blooming well should. I'd be tempted to write and complain. Sorry for the granny grump, but this happens far too often. Hugs
Am sorry to read this happened to you. It is unforgivable to put a poorly person through that.
It is also unforgivable that, for all the money put into the NHS, they still deal with things by unreliable snail mail. I've been in that position too, as well as receiving a rebuking letter for not turning up for an appt which I never received the original snail mail request for. I have received letters the day after the appt was due and in once instance, 3 letters in the same post saying yes, no, ignore our letters - it was a glitch! What a waste of bloody time and money...
There are emails and telephone reminder systems and automated SMS messages. My GP, dentist and one of my hospitals use them. Whyever can your hospital and my second hospital not do so? It's like being back in the 1950s. Whatever happened to the one-stop NHS contact person and electronic systems for joined up healthcare we were all promised?
Yes I also get text reminders etc but you would think same text could be sent to cancel your appointment but your right it’s supposed to be nowadays not them days. I can’t remember having problems years ago x
