Shoulder
You have my sympathy. I had this in both shoulders abut ten years ago thanks to forcing myself to do too many press-ups! I felt something go pop and it made work xtremely difficult, limiting my movement. I found driving very awkward when I struggled to reach and hold the steering wheel. I eventually , after 6 months of this, having it fixed overnight when my rheumatologist diagnosed the issue and gave me steroid ad local anaesthetic into the joint. The relief, thanks to the local was instant and has lasted for years. I've never done even one more press-up since but have done a lot of gym work since, albeit carefully. I can still feel it if I work my shoulders hard. I subsequently had the same injection in my other shoulder a few years later when it flared a bit. So, good luck but be warned, the injury persists.
I've got a very painful shoulder. Had it over a year. Had a cortisone injection that did no good. Rheumatologist suspected rotator cuff injury. Had an X-ray and an ultrasound. Rotator cuff fine and diagnosis is subacromiall bursitis ( I had to Google that!) and just had 1st round of physiotherapy. I feel for you I really do. Its a horrible pain. Hopefully you will get sorted when you get scan results. Took a few weeks for my ultrasound appointment to come through and a couple more for results. Hang in there.
Hi Shelley1701
I have been diagnosed with the same condition in my shoulder as you have. They are waiting to give me a guided steroid injection to elevate some of the pain. Did you have this and has it helped at all? I am very apprehensive about it!!
Thank you 😊
I understand your pain.
I have an affected right shoulder.
Unfortunately my PCP misdiagnosed me with a rotator cuff injury, his exam took less than 60 seconds. In my gut I knew this was not correct, as I do not do anything that could cause such an injury. My PCP also kept demanding I tell him I hurt it at work. He got angry at me when I again told him, I just woke up one day and it was stiff and sore. I actually had to demand physiotherapist as I could not move it much. The physiotherapist spent a full 20 mins examining me, straight up told me he has seen thousands of rotator cuff injuries and that’s Not what I had, physiotherapist suspected bursitis in my shoulder.....when I told my PCP what the physiotherapist said, my PCP had a fit again and asked where the physiotherapist got his medical liscence. When really I wondered where my PCP got his medical liscence.
Turns out I had undiagnosed RA! for 3 years my PCP kept telling me there was nothing wrong with me, by the time I got to a Rheumatologist I already had none erosions in both feet and one hand.
If you are unsure, please get a second opinion. I actually got a new doctor...last I heard that old doctor was being investigated and on my local news.
Please take care, I find when the shoulder hurts, it affects the whole body as the pain radiates.
My Rheumy gave me a cortisone shot years ago and it worked perfect. I recently got another and it didn’t help at all. Voltarin is my best friend now...
Oooh, nasty. You have my greatest sympathy as I had a rotator cuff tear too, before the RA raised its unlovely head. Serves me right, really, as people over 60 really shouldn't be playing on climbing frames. It was fun until I caught a falling grandchild and hurt myself. It took ages to heal. I don't know why but no steroid jabs or anything else for me except painkillers.

I've got a suspected rotar cuff injury and was told it won't show on an xray. Waiting on an urgent ultrasound but told it till be weeks. Been refered to MSK, GP won't refer for MRI, probably doesn't want to pay!I get excruciating tearing pain from my shoulder down my upper arm if I move in a certain way
