Earlier today I received my results from my endoscopy and colonoscopy .
Which shows I have Coeliac disease.
I am and should be happy as results could had been much worse.
Best wishes

I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed....but I as you it has put your mind at rest it's nothing more serious.
At least in 2017 once you get to grips with it you will be able to eat out.
Back in thev1960's a friend was diagnosed & it was so difficult for her to join us in restaurants.
Off you go to buy the Coeliac recipe books!
It’s important to know so you can manage your diet. Good luck with it all .
I've got this too its not a big deal and easy nowadays. M&S do the best bread as the NHS stuff is not good. But its a matter of taste and gluten free bread is always best toasted as it tends to be a bit sweeet. I cook and to fair scones are vile but swiss roll is great. Biggest difficulty for me is th smell of donuts but eating them no, no, no, but I do make cinder toffee as a treat and fudge is another pleasure. Your right it could be much worse I laughed when I was told with relief, but it explianed so much and within a few weeks of being GF I felt loads better. Three years on I still fancy a donut but instead go for the sniff rather than the scoff. Perhaps they could do vape sniff for donuts and bread ??
Hope you get on well with the new diet. As already mentioned it is much easier to cope now with the wide availability of GF foods. You need to be aware of cross contamination. Chips fried in the same oil as used for breaded foods is a good example. As you have a formal diagnosis you will be more sensitive to gluten than I am as I think I am only gluten intolerant.
This week I was tempted by comfort food in the form of a fresh sausage roll from the bakery. It tasted wonderful but I really suffered next day!!
Thank goodness you now have a diagnosis of an illness you can manage rather than something worse. You must be so relieved. Once you've had the genetic testing and started your new regime you should start to feel better quite soon. Wishing you all the very best

Thank you Gnarli, when we are up against not feeling well some of us tend to think the worse, I know I did losing my brother not too long ago and dad to cancer . Was delighted with results so were my sons . I did not know they had thought the worse scenario till after .
Best wishes Jan

Hi. Re hidden gluten, its buried in so much these day. Pre ground spices in country of origin use flour to stop clumping but in terms of parts per mil they do not require labeling here. I could detect it and have to buy all my spices whole. Before i was diagnosed gluten always caused flares and i didnt understand why though i am not coeliac

If you like baking there are some excellent cookbooks out there now . . . and yes, you CAN have your scone and eat it - I've found a really delicious recipe for those in the River Cottage Gluten Free cookery book . Anyway these are the best books so far in my baking collection:
Great Gluten-Free Baking Louise Blair
This is Gluten Free - Victoria Hall
Gloriously Gluten Free - Susanna Booth
Gluten-Free & Easy - Sara Lewis
River Cottage Gluten Free - Naomi Devlin
I suggest joining Coeliac UK if you haven't already done so as they will send you lots of good information.
There are also lots of lovely blogs and websites out there with some good recipes to try - good pages on Facebook too if you use it. There is a big community of gluten free people out there who are a friendly bunch and usually happy to share tips, ideas and recipes
(I cannot eat gluten as it makes me flare up badly (although did test negative for coeliac) and my 12 year old daughter was diagnosed coeliac a year ago based on gene test and very high TTG levels.)
