I wondered how everyone on Humira which is delivered by Healthcare at home find their next delivery. I have to phone to find out when I will be receiving my delivery. When I was on Benapali I had plenty of stock in the fridge, now I have one injection left and no delivery date. I find that they do not answer the phone for ages, 18 minutes once and 24 the next time. Neither do they reply to texts as they say they will on the recorded message. When I eventually got through last time I was told they were waiting for a prescription from my hospital even though I had been using it since July and my rheumatologist won't be seeing me until February. Do you have to chase them up each time?
Humira deliveries: I wondered how everyone on Humira... - NRAS
Humira deliveries
Leave a voice message with ur specialist NURSE and she will sort it out I have had to do this a few times or collect it from hospital pharmacist hope this helps
Your nurse should sort it - she needs to sort the prescription - they wont let you miss an injection - just get onto the hospital
I never realised a prescription had to be sent as this didn't happen with Benepali. I just thought Healthcare at home had been told to supply them and that was that.
Normally it's automatic that hospital renews prescription every 4 or 8 weeks, I think 12 is the maximum that HAH can supply without a renewal - for all drugs.
I have had trouble with them picking up the phone too but I have always been called when I have 1 syringe of Humira left (only inject every fortnight).
H@H can't deliver any drug to you unless they have a prescription from your prescribing hospital. I agree that it's your specialist nurse/rheumatology team who must act and once they know you're low on stocks they should prioritise it. If you don't hear back from the hospital Helpline phone the Rheumatologist's secretary. Good luck.
I've been having problems recently too. I run out before I get mine. It's been the hospital not sending prescription to HaH until last minute. Had to phone my consultants secretary last time because nurses helpline wasn't available. HaH don't tell you if there is a problem though so you are left guessing and waiting. Took me 3 emails to get them to reply. They take too long to answer the phone.
Bailyb. No HAH tell me whenever I am due for a delivery. They will not deliver unless I answer their questions first: remaining stock, frequency of injection, etc. I have never had to chase up a delivery.
You think you have a problem with Healthcare at Home, used to be with them for Embrel and no real problems, now with Lloyds Pharmacy Clinical Homecare for Benipali and nothing but problems, each one blaming the other, I went three weeks without my injections did suffer but not as much as I was worried about, and got back to how I was once I started again. It is the mental stress of it all. You are lucky, our Rh Nurse is only there 6 hours a week to take calls that are never answered and a messsage saying don't leave a message they are not listened to, we also have to send an e-mail to the hospital when we are down to three injections, as they only deliver 4 at a time now that is pretty often, used to be 12 at a time once! My suspicion is it is the hospitals that are trying to cut down on the expense of the drugs, and after I missed the three weeks my consultant suggested I try extending the time between injections, I have got to ten days so far but am scared to go longer. Well that is off my chest now, sorry others are having problems, it is a lonely old disease thank goodness for HealthUnlocked.
HIa,
They always chase me to book a date every 2 months. Then text me twice with reminders nearer the date. I'm on Enbrel but had the same experience with Benepali. Don't see why Humira would be any diff.

I’ve had so many problems with HAH that I’ve started making formal complaints. Have no idea why they make such a mess of things. Causes me much grief and stress.
Yes!!Also have to chase up the hospital for the perscription!!
Hi Bally
What you describe is a regular occurrence for me.
I have to say it seems its more when the hospital doesn't send the prescription.
They always blame each other though.
You can tell when your prescription is through for either 8 weeks or 12 weeks as H care@ Home start telling you by text that its coming. Whenever they havnt received the prescription you always get down to your last jab and you have to chase it up like mad.
Twice in the two years Ive been on Enbrel then Benepali there has been the mix up and my rheumatologist nurse has raised a grievance and made a formal complaint.
Once Ive been left with no injection and had to take it three days late.
You certainly are not alone in this and lately its been hard getting through to H C @ H as you describe.
Good luck , Im torn with actually admiring the service and two hour delivery window with the unfailingly polite delivery drivers and gettjng frustrated when occasionally it doesnt go smoothly.
