I am going to a big wedding in Devon in December travelling from the North East. Anyway I have found a beautiful outfit and hat. Needs altering cause I have lost some weight so that is good but the problem is shoes. I can't seem to find a shoe that is low heeled, cushion soles would be good. I want an attractive shoe nothing clumpy. I know you will all say just wear what's comfortable and I do need comfortable but I want smart as well. Have added a photo of outfit so you can see why I need smart. I can't find anything and am now despairing. Its my stepsons wedding. Small problem I know but big for me right now.

Hello I don't have rheumatoid arthritis but another condition which causes ligament and bone pain.I find most shoes uncomfortable and this year needed a smart pair for my daughter's wedding.I found a pair of gabor shoes the best I was able to wear them all day.My friend who also has bad feet likes hotter shoes.Hope you find something your outfit is lovely.Jane

I looked at hotter but nothing was right. I used to be a big shoe person and have even held on to my old heels even though I know I will never wear them again but can't part with them. Maybe subconsciously I think I might wear them again, I wish lol x

I understand, my daughter got married in March. I bought a pair of nude mid range heel, wide fitting shoes that went with everything as I had change of outfits over the time. Nude would go with your outfit really well. You could always buy a set of memory foam insoles for shoes if you cant find really comfy ones.

Have a fab time....pace yourself. I was fortunate as specialist gave me medication / oral steroids and injection to help me get through the week as so much was going on and I could hardly function due to pain prior to that. The drop after was rough but worth it. I factored in rests. Was a wonderful time.

RD is a nightmare for footwear.

Understand the foot problem all too well and me thinks u will get lots of good advice about makes and comfort ratings.

I recently bought some neutral coloured flattish rather soft and snazzy shoes from Shuh just in case I needed something comfortable and smarter than trainers!

The last wedding I went to I had one pair of shoes for ceremony and photos and then changed, asap, into a low wedge/flats for comfort for the rest of the celebrations.

Whatever you get to fit I want to encourage you that you look fantastic even with bare feet!

Have you looked at shoe tailor online? They have a variety of different makes/priced shoes with a good number of width fittings. I got a lovely pair of Van Dal shoes a few years ago. Good luck I hope you find something.

Well I must say you look very elegant, most smart! Now speaking as one who's had troublesome RD feet for a considerable time my Podietrist has told me for stability I've to wear a wedge or block heel. I've also to have adjustable support so mainly lace ups but what I'm thinking is if you think either are suitable a wedge or block heel as opposed to a slim heel they will provide the stability which will, in theory, see you wear the shoes longer in comfort. If width is a problem for you I'd also go for a black, higher fitting shoe, darker colours extending up your foot give the impression of slimming the foot, nude would accentuate width, as would something cutting your foot off just above the top of the big toe bone.

Whatever you wear on your feet I hope you find something with comfort yet stylish, have a lovely day!

Thank you. I was thinking black with sheer black tights. Yes although I would love to wear a kitten heel a block heel would be better. In the shop where I bought the outfit they gave me some heels to try with it. Well I nearly fell over and the two ladies had to support me and help me take them off. To think I used to run around in 3 inch heels all day in my younger days, sigh!!

My feet are really bad too. I've found on occasions when I need to I can get away with a small block heel as long as the shoe also has a strap across. The strap really helps with feeling more stable.

I live in Eaglescliffe near Yarm. I bought the outfit in Easington about 2t mins drive from where I live .

You look very elegant. As on who also suffers with feet, I advise you to just find the shoe which is wearable - black or neutral - & then decide tights colour. It is surprising how little the shoe is noticeable, actually, when the outfit is striking! The suggestion of using a comfort insole is a good one. If Hotter won't do, do you have a Shoe-Med in the district? Good luck, and have a great time!

I say! You look gorgeous. Whatever comfortable shoes you decide to wear on your feet will be fabulous. Discomfort, or worse pain, will show on your face. I loved elegant shoes but, hey, that was then. Any wide-fit shoe with a memory foam insole from a good manufacturer would be spot on. I hope you have a lovely day

Fabulous outfit! I bought some wide fitting black patent sling backs from M&S for a wedding. Bit pointy but mid heel and width made them amazingly comfortable.

Try the brand Rainbow shoes.they are a bridle shoe. They have all sorts but I hadba low heel and they were padded at the toes. The best bit is you choose the ivory colour and then you choose the colour from the brochure out of approx 100 different colours and they send them off and you have them posted to your home address. You have to allow 2 weeks. I kept mine on all daybfor my daughters wedding.

Maybe try Hotter? Or Gabor and Van Dal do wide fittings - depends where your lumps and bumps are. Good luck, I think many of us know how discouraging it feels to have to compromise an outfit with rubbish shoes.

Don't know if there is one near you, but look on line for a shoe outlet called Pavers......they produce a catalogue so you can see what type of shoes they have. They have a huge selection so you are likely to find something there.

Intheirvstores you can wander around ...try on shoes & walk about without an assistant hovering

I went recently & between us my friend & I bought 6 pres of shoes,a pair of boots & 2 prs of slippers!

Failing that have you tried John Lewis? Their larger stores have good shoe departments...I bought navy patent with a grosgrain bow...would look good in black or stone to match your outfit......they only have a one inch heel, but they do look smart.

I agree Pavers have a huge range including some of the brands already mentioned. A friend and I order them online and we're in Australia! Nice wide fits and some are cushioned as well. Fabulous outfit btw!

I have a nice pair from Evans the outsize clothing company they do really wide shoes , because if you put insoles in to them you will lose the depth so try Evans and if you do find some suitable wear them around the shop for a while, I have lots and lots of shoes that seem suitable then when you wear them out they kill your feet, also try and go for suede it gives a little x good luck 👍 gorgeous outfit by the way x

First of all that dress looks absolutely FABULOUS on you!! Have you googled Naturlizer shoes? Their shoes are very comfortable. I would stick with black to make that trim on the dress pop and you can go with a "block" heel or even a "wedge" for added support and stability and comfort. Have a great time.

Gosh, you look absolutely gorgeous!

I'm afraid I only have one pair of shoes with a tiny heel. Fortunately I was never a shoe person. I live in either long boots, walking boots, trainers, Merrell walking shoes and Sketchers shoes but they are clumpy too.

My dressy pair came from M&S they are that Footglove brand they sell, are in lovely soft leather looking fabric with a time kitten heel. I was going to say that other than that I'd say try Hotter shoes but reading on I see that's been suggested.

I like the idea of nude shoes along with memory foam insoles, that sounds like it would work - take your insoles with you to try them in the shoes you're interested in and you can get some very smart wedge heels. I'd go for something for the photograph and something comfortable for afterwards to avoid what my old mother used to call 'agony feet'.

Thats a beautiful outfit. I also have feet troubles and find a small wide fitting wedge shoe looks smart. I also think to myself that I will probably be sat at a table and no one will see my feet if I take them off.
