Hi, i'm new here, been diagnosed a year and half and been on metxt since then, but today have been taken off it as experiencing sweating, dizziness and breathlessness. Extremely tired all the time so been sent for lung function tests. Anyone gone through this or have any advice please😔

Hiya Gez-1311 & welcome. I would think your Rheumy's being cautious, rightly so as MTX can affect the lungs but try not to worry too much, it may not be the cause & you can continue on it, maybe monitored more closely for a few months. If you do have to stop it there are other DMARDs you can try so don't worry. Are your drug monitoring bloods ok? It's not possible you're anaemic are you? Breathlessness & fatigue are both possible symptoms as can be sweating & RD being a tricky disease if you're not well enough controlled so again fatigue can be common but also a symptoms of anaemia.

So, let's see how your lung function test turns out, hopefully it will be fine. Keep in touch, let us know how things go.

I know you are scared, but please try to think of it this way:

I think it marvelous that your team of doctors are "on the ball". You might be having a reaction to MTX and your doctors are "nipping it in the bud." Or you might be coming down with a bad cold/ flu. Either way, they are one step ahead of anything bad happening.

I wish you well & please keep us updated

Hi I am really suffering with tiredness . I really don't know how long I can go on with the effects. I am trying to keep a job down but don't think I can cope. I am a very positive person but boy am I feeling it . I am even feeling tearful but that could be my tiredness . I have a hospital appointment so going to talk it through there. my doctor seams to think it's all in the mind. I am getting a few kicks in my kidney and potassium in my blood but they have still left me on it. I do hope yours sorts its self out as I know just hoist can feel. That's why this is such a great forum to be part of. I think sometimes we stay silent so it does not effect people around us otherwise I feel I could sound like a moaner. People some times don't know how worry it all is we all just want to be well. Once you have your lung results them make sure you do what's right for you. I am tying to get my head round it too. Good luck speak soon
