Another blooming chest infection.........: Had to go to... - NRAS
Another blooming chest infection.........
I've had 9 x rays and eventually a sputum test this was positive for MRSA in my lungs. It is treatable and has been, so all is well. But my advice is if they are reoccurring ask for this test
I know where I got it in all I had 11 lots of antibiotics and this strain was merely damped down not killed off so came back and back. I'm going for surgery this week and to be honest am so glad that other people are being protected from me. Be careful my dear and do ask for the sputum test if you've been in hospital, like I was.
Sorry you have another chest infection Sylvi. You have had quite a few of these and the antibiotics must be dragging you down !! Hope you try to feel better soon xxx
Hope you start to feel better soon Sylvi. x
Hello,
Don' know what drugs you are on, but many drugs prescribed for RA cause immunosuppression which can lead to repeated infections. Having been on steroids and methotrexate for over 30 years and Rituximab for 14 years I now have hypogammaglobulaemia which requires treatment with immunoglobulin infusions to reinstate my immune system.
From 2009 - 2016 I suffered repeated chest infections, UTIs and shingles 6 times. I suspected a problem with my immune system and did lots of research. When I put forward my suspicions to my rheumatologist he checked my blood results and discovered low immunoglobulin levels had been missed and had been present since 2012.
I only tell this story, not to frighten anyone, but to inform. If repeated infections are an issue then insist your immunoglobulin levels are measured and please monitor your disease carefully yourself. I wish you well.
Regards Pam
I have weak lungs and massive scar tissue in them from chemical pneumonia at 2. I drank paint thinner. Needless to say my parents were not great .
Anyways, I keep the humidity levels in my house at about 55% to stave off lung infection! I have a cool mist humidifier going year round. Maybe that will help you as well.
I pray you have a speedy recovery!
Blimey darling you were in danger if you were able to drink
That darling. No wonder your suffering now and that is without the ra and its friends.xxxx
I was the last of six and my parents were too old for me and on the edge of the divorce cliff! I am blessed to have survived my childhood! I guess I am the one paying penance for my parents ignorance! I can't remember who said it , but a comedian once said childhood is what you spend your whole life trying to get over!
Thats true,my parents were drinkers and the rows when dad got paid was dreadful.xxxx
My dad was an alcoholic which is common for veterans. He served during WWII in the United States Army. He wasn't violent just insolent! My Mom still emotionally abuses me, but she is my mother. I don't know why, but she has never treated me nice. Because of this my kids are loved very well by me! I am told I am too good to them.
My mum and dad loved us,but when she had my brother he is the wonder boy because she nearly died the year before she hd him from a eptopic pregnancy. I don't drink now and haven't done for 15yrs.xxxx
Gentle hugs sweet Sylvi and hope you feel better soon. xxxxxx
