I had a steroid injection into both my wrists but it was on diagnosis so not sure if it worked. I did have a steroid injection into my right elbow which worked really well a couple of months later. I'm due to have another one into my elbow this week.

I was told that a steroid injection should last 3 months but for me it lasts about 6 weeks.

Hi. I had a guided injection into my wrist and knuckles during my first year of RA. It was sore and bit bruised for 24 hours. Worked really well for me and have not had problem with that joint since. Hope it will help you.

I had it in my hip joint, yikes! And into my knee cap gap, double yikes!

It didn't do much tbh, minimally effective for me!

Thank you , sorry it didn't work for you, fingers cross

Hope it works, don't have too many, it will bring on depression. Because of my recent experiences and being quite ill, I am making it my mission in life to remind everyone that most drugs are toxic, yes toxic, check the side effects, they may be worse than the original condition and come off them with supervision as soon as possible.

Thank you for your advice, this will be my first time.take care

HiElla61...i have had 6 different steroid injections into my joints. There was no pain because they freeze the joint first. Apparently they last about 6 months. I must be very lucky tho...i had the first one more than 10 years ago and it's still good. The others have lasted about one year and it seems like the one in the wrist is just starting to wear off now. I've had no side effects at all from them.:)

Poor you! To be honest, my wrist is not sore, but there's still a bump and reumathologist thinks that the steroid may remove it. Thank you for your reply

I've had 3 in to my knee. I was in the worst pain of my life and now I'm walking pain free for the first time in 9 years. The other 2 injections didn't work

Hi. I have had 2 in both knees. One 2 years ago, no side affects, hurt for about 24hrs after and lasted for 2 years. Have just now started to get some pain in joint. Had one in other knee 2 weeks ago and hasn't worked as well as I'd hoped and had face flushing for about 3 days after. Everyone is different I hope yours works for you. X

I had my wrist injected under ultrasound in September, it took a couple of days to kick in properly and lasted about 6 months until I mashed some potatoes and set it off again. Now I'm waiting for it to be done again.
