Diet instead of meds

Hi I'm 55 and have had RA for 9+ years. I take several meds including an infusion of actemra on a monthly basis. I would like to buy the Clint paddison book and try the program but I'm not sure if the book has the whole diet program. If there is anyone who has bought the book please let me know. Thanks

If you use the search box top right and look for posts on diet, or search for Kai's posts you'll find all the information you need without paying a penny.

But eating a healthy diet does help you in other ways, so always worth looking to see if you can improve your lifestyle.

Hi. I'm 57, and have been taking Humira for RA and CD, as well as Arava, and Wellbutrin for depression. I've finally decided enough! From what I've read,

these chronic diseases are caused by lifestyle--so I'm

making some lifestyle changes: my

"Summer of Radical Self-care" includes a modified version of the Paddison Program (both my Rheum and Gi doc are supportive), exercise using PiYo (beachbody)- and IFS trauma therapy, meditation, for stress. In the hopes of getting off of all RXs. I track every thing. I've already lost almost 10 pounds and it's only been 1 month!

All that to say, if you're motivated to work on lifestyle, why not try?

It might be an idea to look into other diets as well. Like AIP and Dr Terry Wahls protocol. These are both science based and have had good results with an abundance of AI patients. When starting with a diet it is however quite important to check if you have hypothroidism or an imbalance of estrogen- progesterone. Certain diets help you fix these dysfunctions together with supplementation whereas in fact certain diets worsen these conditions that are very common in RA patients and that increase symptoms and inflammation. Best thing is to work with a nutritionist that is familiar with these diets and have your doc check your hormonal balance.

Good luck😊👍🏻
