methofill instead of metoject

hope you are all coping coping with the heat.

my pharmacy has sent me methofill which I have never used or been trained to use, instead of metoject.

was not sure if they are basically the same or different. Metoject is spring loaded and I'm not sure about the methofill or if I should use it.

Hi Moog, I was on 15 mg and used metoject but when my dose was recently dropped to 12.5 I was given methofill without explanation. I was slightly concerned but actually they’re very easy to use . Just follow the instructions and it’s very quick and totally pain free which the metoject wasn’t always. I’m sure you’ll be fine 😀

Morning Downtime ,I will do my first one on Friday.

I have been on metoject 5 years and methotrexate before that and recently changed pharmacy which is why I have been given metofill😬

Hi, I was given that once, rang Rhumatolagy and they said don't use it, it's a cheaper med and I was not train to use it, they don't train people to use it. Had to go back to my doctors and reorder mtx. Check with your consultant or doctors. Good luck.

Morning Egpa,That's what I was thinking. I have an appointment with rheumatology tomorrow so I will inform them. Pharmacy's change the brands of drugs I'm on alot and they don't always agree with me.

Moog73 that's a good ideal to ask at your appt. You can get Rhumatolagy to put in there letter only metrojet mtx every time. That's what I did. Good luck.

Mine said the same too, got a new prescription for metoject

I get either metoject or methofill this happens if there’s a shortage of the metoject. Had prescription changed to say either so at least I get something. Both are easy to use but if you don’t like injections you can see the needle with methofill might be a problem. As said follow I stand should be ok x
