As you know I am in rehab at home I take slippery elm bark which I know helps me a lot I also take pred 5mg I take my pred in rehab but they won't let me take the slippery elm bark as they don't know the interaction with the injection they give you in the stomach that they give to most patients to. avoid blood clots I do notice a difference not taking the slippery elm bark

How long are you in rehab for darling, the injection your talking about is clexane(not sure about the spelling) and is for stopping blood clots. The nursing staff are right to ask you not to take them as this is a critical time in your recovery. I believe the injections are only for 14days so hold off taking them until after you get home darling.xxxxx

The injections are all the time while you are in hospital but I am not sure when you get home you can start herbal and probioticss as I don't know how long the injection stays in your sustem

Hello

Yes, nurse is right to say avoid supplement whilst injecting. Sime supplements can have dangerous interactions with drugs.

Wait until after stopping the injections.

Speedy recovery.

Usually its heperin to avoid clots (dvt) or break them up after an operation around here. I know 'cos going in end of the month for a foot operation. I have had clots and its vital to follow your doctor or nurses advisc. I take Riveroxaban for life and whilst its great it means no so called 'supplements' or anything else without a doctors advice. It may be that you come home with a supply of River or Apixaban and you'll get a lot of advice about taking it. It saves my life every day but they are complex medications. It also means that some RA drugs are a no no too but that will be explained to you anyway.

Do you have to stay on that tablet for the rest of your lot life I was on the understanding its only while you are in hospital

Not always its usually if your inactive or not able to move about, but RA does mean a higher incidence of clotting problems. Be guided by your doctor and always ask before taking any so called healthly supplements.
