Healthy? Vegetable Crisps (US that's chips)

Packs of vegetable crisps can contain the equivalent of nearly 8 teaspoons of sugar.

See photo!

Although the vegetables used contain natural sugars manufacturers may add sugar, honey, molasses or Maple syrup!

As they are deep fried they are also very high in fat!

Wow...I had a bag these last weekend and they had a lot of sugar in them, not at all healthier than normal crisps and might as well have some chocolate!

I fell for it too and I never normally eat crisps. Parsnip crisps with garlic n stuff were very sweet and reasonably tasty but - oh - the dragon breath after. I'm not repeating the experiment.

The other week I made kale crisps when my family were visiting. They loved them. So simple to make (in the oven not fried). Just google recipes for vegetable crisps. I sprinkled mine with cumin on some and paprika on others to give them a bit of a kick.

Yes, I've done this with kale as well, it tastes edible this way 😊 Also sweet potatoes cut into wedges and served with a healthy dip are lovely too, at least you know what goes into them too!

I love homemade kale chips. Yum

Sounds as healthy as a chocolate covered deep fried banana. :)
