Tonight its real chips !

The one thing I've really missed is fish and chips once a week. so as shielding could go on I'e bought a deep fat fryer not the healthy one but the one that can fry donuts and proper chips. So tonight guess what we have for tea? Its all things in moderation but tonight its chips, chips and salt and vinegar. We get the news online so no newspaper to wrap in. So what food have you all missed ? I can cook well so make most things but oven chips just don't rock my boat with fish. lol x

I’m not sure I care what the food is, as long as it is served to me on a nicely laid table with a nice view and good atmosphere, and then taken away and washed up. Preferably with a cute and friendly waiter or waitress.

Thats so true, and you can choose how you want the steak cooked too. Trouble is it's not going to be a weekly event for the foreseeable future. My husband is not to be trusted cooking when I was really ill with AKI he did cook but the mess he left behind was dreadful and he even got stuff on the ceiling when he didn't put the lid on the magi mix properly. That day I cried. He kept saying sorry and it made it worse. So he does try and I was grateful but he loads dishwasher does all the cups of tea etc and does breakfast but leaves lunch and dinner to me. And eats what put in front of him. lol xxx

And the posh ones make the oven so dirty as they spit and cover the door with splashes. Now the chips were lovely the mfryer can go in the cupboard and no oven to clean. They were lovely, so indulgent and it only cost £50 from Amazon. I think a good buy.

Like you I miss fish and chips that someone else has cooked for me. I eat gluten free and even before lockdown really set in they had stopped their lovely GF cod and chips - although by that time I had seen their food delivery man coughing his head off as he was taking supplies into the shop so I’d decided to give them a miss for a while. Still miss them though. The donuts so und good - bet you could make churros too. Mmm.

There’s nothing like it is there. I have a tip to save the smell. Plug it in an extension lead outside if you can.

Has anyone out there tried delivered or collected restaurant or pub food? There seem to be a few food outlets round here, including cafes, where you can pick up the food they serve or even get it delivered. A friend had a pub Sunday lunch from a local pub a week or so back and seemed quite impressed. My OH has a birthday coming up but doesn’t like traditional takeaways ............

We have been having fish and chips delivered (and an occasional Chinese). We were so pleased when local take aways started delivering. Order and pay online and food left on doorstep so no contact.

Yes we have been lucky enough to have this too. We’ve had fish & chips delivered once & an Indian meal delivered on our wedding anniversary. The fish & chips were lovely & still really hot too. A teal treat.

I’m missing my Costa coffee & blueberry muffins the most. X

Enjoy! All the talk of fish and chips etc has got me reaching for the Just Eat app for tonight's dinner! 😀

They don't deliver here, too far out of town. So its been a good investment and tasted great. Going to have a go at home made donuts tomorrow. I wasn't sure but easy to use and no doubt our fish and chips is hotter too. Now to order some cod from Tesco and I can make Gluten free so its a win win situation. Best buy for ages for us.
