Healthy Diets - a bit obvious but worth saying!

The human body is marvellously equipped to cope although anyone reading this probably has a few body systems that aren't obliging! I know mine doesn't, BUT common sense things such as making sure your body has all the fuel, right ingredients etc to do its best is crucial. A balanced diet incorporating vitamins and minerals in recommended daily intakes is ideal. Some of our foods don't contain all the vits and mins they should, so being aware of what might be missing and what might need a top-up is good. This is not medical advice, just basic nutrition. Check out everything with your team but I am sure they will not have a problem with you taking Vitamin A and D which our bodies tend to be short on in the winter. These along with essential nutrients such as selenium and glutathione are key for fighting infections.

There are a handful of foods that naturally contain glutathione, including asparagus, avocado, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, spinach, broccoli, garlic, chives, tomatoes, cucumber, almonds, and walnuts. Some of those contain selenium also. It is interesting that one of the reasons put forward by scientists to explain why the elderly are more vulnerable to respiratory infections is that Vitamin a, D, and Glutathione are often only present at very low levels. Happy chomping! Stay healthy!

Here are some scientific facts presented by a well known scientist. The degenerative changes in our bodies and old age bring forth many problems that we can infact prevent to a certain degree with right supplementation.

Please be careful what you recommend ....vitamin A can be dangerous.

Best not to give any info on dietary supplements.... just advise to check with qualified dietician if you feel you are lacking something In your every day diet.

There might be some people who should not take some of the foods you are mentioning..... Our physicians will recommend any extra supplements we need to take on top of our normal diet.

That is what I said. "Check everything out with your team". Couldn't have been clearer. I have never heard anyone from being banned from a healthy mixed diet. High doses, yes.

Some people will not see it that way

I actually find it a wee bit offensive that anyone thinks I need to be advised of the really obvious. It is also true that at least a couple of your so called healthy vegetables are banned to people who use certain prescribed medications.

It's not as simple as you seem to imply. So its ok to advise me that you find this type of diet helpful but not ok to tell me what to eat for good health.

Please be careful as it also might seem that anyone who does not have a "healthy' diet is somehow at fault in being ill.. I can grow vegetables and live in the country, others might live in a city without a garden. I think you must follow whatever diet regime you wish, but not imply that any particular group of foods is good for everyone because it is not the case.

Why do you comment in the way you do ML? This member has not told anyone what to eat. The member is sharing an opinion and has clearly said to check everything out with your team in regards to nutrition. I have observed for a while now alot of replies on here are very cutting and condescending. Almost on the borderline of bullying.

People must remember we are adults on here, not school children. It's very possible for everyone to get their point across in a nice, respectful way.

Adults make their own decisions and its highlighted on here every day the importance of seeking medical advice before consuming supplements and for some, food. So members DO know!

There was a recent comment from another member about such replies therefore it may be affecting people. If that is the case then I feel that is very wrong. If someone is TELLING a member what to do then that is different. Mmrr put me right recently in a post but she did it well, respectfully and it was rectified with no harm. Things to discuss on here now are becoming quite restrictive due to such remarks. People genuinely have good intentions and are trying to help. It's not nice to be shot down in flames. Some of us are in pain and very fatigued. A little respect and understanding goes a long way!

Please read what I said, not what you think I said. I think you misconstrue and bringing others into it is not really very constructive. Do report me if you think it's bullying to add to a comment.

A shame that despite the guidelines set out by NRAS pursuing the idea that because we're adults and this post made the original assumption that "Check out everything with your team but I am sure they will not have a problem with you taking Vitamin A and D which our bodies tend to be short on in the winter. " that this is ok.

So I'm not going to prolong this simply ask you not to continue this and report me direct to NRAS.
