Swollen feet

I have very dry skin as I have trouble washing in certain places. I try to walk a little each day but find it difficult. When I lay in bed my feet seem better but after a few minutes in my chair they swell up and are stiff. Is they anything I can or should do. I am seeing my nurse in November. Is anyone having the same problem.

Thanks

Try an emollient cream like Epaderm instead of soap to help your dry skin.

As I understand it your feet swell when they are not elevated?

Give your Rheumy/practice nurse a call ..he/she will have your medical notes & may have some helpful suggestions.

Hope you get it sorted

I was prescribed recently with Aveena body wash, has really worked for me. I also have epaderm, but I use it as body cream, mainly arms legs and feet. I also have hospital made orthotics I have them in men's trainers as that's all I can wear. Lol

My feet get very sore under and between the toes when I walk too much or have to stand a long time. They crack and blister from rubbing together where the toes overlap. Having tried lots of creams, I've found that the best one is aqueous cream. I massage it into the base of my feet and between my toes after a shower. It is not sticky or greasy, and soothes the stiffness. You can get it from any chemist in a huge tub and it's very cheap so you could use it for your dry skin too. I also can't go barefoot or my feet get tired and sore so have to keep socks on as much as possible which helps.

Hope this is useful.

Thanks to everyone for their help. I knew I could depend on you to get the answers.

Hello, mu hubby's feet swell up every night bless him. I consider it to be a mixture of not being as normally active as you would be, leading to poor circulation, hence swelling in the evenings. Hubby elevates his feet in the evening, which helps a little, then next day they're ok till the evening. Like Groundhog Day!! It's a great disease lol :))
