I can't help you on that one as I didn't need one , but just tell them as it is on your worst day and you should be fine. There's a few tips on this website that are helpful or give the help line a call, they give you good advice hope you get it

Whatever you are capable of doing basically. If yyou look on the benefitandwork website (all one word), they have the latest PIP form and give advice re the actual assessment etc

Hi, I have been to an assessment recently. We have to be honest and explain what bothers us the most on a bad day. They will know that the condition varies and we can have good and bad days. They'll ask you how often you have a bad day. they'll ask you most of the questions on the form. Towards the end they'll ask to do some movements. good luck

From what I have read and heard, hey don't really want to know much about your disabilities or illnesses, they are more interested in what you can do and can't do.Your movements, reach etc are more important to them than how much pain you are in.

Hi Jaqi ..most of the time you sit and just answer the questions .Then they will do a Medical on you ..not sure what the medical involves as the Nurse who was Assessing me ,seen that i was in to much pain to do the Assessment and she skipped it saying that i was not well enough for the Medical . got the PIP .Highest on both ..good luck .

I commented on a previous post that you need to present yourself negatively - and it goes against our natural inclinations to do so.

You need to say things like "NO, I can't do that for more than a few minutes" not "YES, I can do that for a few minutes". The assessor only hears the first word, not your moderating ones and ticks the box accordingly.

Practice with a friend or relative!

Be honest make certain you back up with as much info about your illness from gp to consultant and rhematolgy unit nurses as possible list all medication and get copies from all listed above and present them if you have not done so already and ask if your seeing gp or a nurse practioner hope this helps you and good luck

I agree with all comments. Always think of your worst day when you answer questions x

At my assessment I was asked about my good days. She didn't want to know about my worst days! I think it is all pre-decided as my assessment was a joke, I didn't feel I got across how I am at all yet I was awarded higher level mobility and lower level care.
