Now treat yourself!!! M x
What great news June. Perseverance pays off so well done you, I'm sure that's a weight off your mind! Keep us updated on progress on the remainder. Wow, going to be a great grandmother & awarded both components for PIP, a good start to the New Year for you too! Couldn't be more pleased for you. x
Hello Junebee, That's fantastic news! I've followed your PIP saga on here and felt for you that you've had such a tough time claiming it! Really hope you will win your appeal which now they've made this award they are aware that YOU ARE in genuine need of extra help!! Best wishes x
Hi I've been refused pip and waited for the call which never came I have asked for a mandatory reconsideration how long did you have to wait? Xx
Hiya dleadly & welcome. Can you let us know what you mean by "the call that never came"? Do you mean you didn't have an assessment or that you expected a phone call to advise you of the decision & why you're challenging it? I've recently received notification of my PIP payment decision & although I've received one part at enhanced rate I've asked for reconsideration on the other component. Not quite the same but probably a better example than Junebee's which hasn't been a simple process as hers goes back to the early days of PIP & the many problems there were at that time. If you think I can help you I can let you know how mine has panned out so far.
Hi nomoreheels on my letter saying I had been denied pip it said the decision maker would call me to discuss the reasons as to why I was refused I didn't get the call I rang and lodged Thai wanted a reconsideration and was told to wait until the decision maker rang I still didn't get a call they rang me to ask if I had put it in writing I said no I was told to wait for the call the man on the phone said to send a letter in asap also they had received more information from the hospital I posted my letter with more information about my condition and now I wait!!
Oh I see. What I had was a letter informing me of the payment decision, expanding why I was awarded the Daily Living component & why I wasn't awarded the Mobility component. Further on it detailed if I didn't agree with the Decision to contact them to request reconsideration. After getting advice I phoned them & outlined why I was asking for reconsideration & put it in writing addressed to the Case Manager. I asked how long before I could expect to hear the decision & told 9-10 weeks.
So back to you... l would keep badgering them. Have you taken notes of when you've called, the name of the person you spoke to, it's all grist to the mill. If you look back on my profile page & check out my posts regarding PIP you'll see what a faff I had to just get my application form! That said I received my decision 2 weeks & 1 day after my assessment, with the Christmas holidays in between so they can work quickly! Was yours dealt with by Atos or Capita? If there's anything I can help with don't hesitate to pm me no probs. Don't give in, that's not the game.
Mine was Atos I was only in the interview for 35 mins but I thought I had done enough it's very disheartening but I won't give up and I may take you up on your offer sometime soon oh and I received my decision in 6 days which is a little too quick for my liking x
That was quick.... on both counts. Mine took an hour & she was very thorough, particularly so on the physical. This is why I'm surprised at the outcome for Mobility. If you read my assessment update post even my hips rather loudly clicked to order & she didn't particularly push me! Have you asked for a copy of the consultation report? If not it might be an idea to request one pdq from the DWP (0800 850 3322), then you know what you're tackling.... where you've been misunderstood or if your assessor hasn't acknowledged/noted just how, when or where you struggle. Please do pursue this. I thought hard about it, saw CAB & even my GP thought it was ridiculous given that I'd been awarded enhanced on the other part & particularly as the Decision Maker acknowledged I have "difficulties moving around" in her summing up. They can't just say no when you have difficulties, not acceptable. If you think you need advice contact your local CAB or Dial & again if there's anything I could throw light on just ask. x
I rang them within 30day to ask for a reconsideration that took seven months they don't seem to be a time limit on how long it takes them you have to ring them at interval's all I can say is don't give up I am still not fully sorted I am letting them take the lead a bit now as its uncharted ground for me I wish you well
