Good morning everyone, well i was at the drs yesterday afternoon and got on the scales and i have lost another five pounds and i now weigh 17st 4lbs. It has been six weeks today since i had my op and eight weeks since i started the yogurt and milk diet in preparation for the op and i have lost two stone. The first two weeks was very difficult, but i am through the worst of it and am a lot more mobile than i was even though the fibro and fatigue is no better.

Sending you all hugs and i thank you all for your support.xxxx

Photo was of me before the operation.xxx

Well done Sylvi, that's great. I weigh a little more than you currently and made an appointment to see the nurse for next week to start trying to lose weight again, as I figure it can only help to reduce the burdon on my joints. I was always big, but managed to lose 6 and a half stone after the birth of my eldest and get down to 11 stone, but then got pregnant with my youngest and put 4 stone back on amd then gained another 3 stone (at least, i've not weighed for a while now) due to depression and emotional eating. I've tried over and over to lose it again, but think I need the accountability of a regular weigh in to keep me on the straight and narrow. What is the yoghurt and milk diet, do you mind me asking?

Keep up the good work, you're doing great! X

I went to the obesity clinic and have since had a bariatric sleeve where they cut half my stomach away. I had to live on milk and yogurt for two weeks to shrink my liver ready for the operation. I lived on it for two whole weeks. Try asking for a refferal to the obesity clinic and see what they say.xxxx

Good news Sylvi, so wish I could lose some weight, trying low carb through diabetic dietitians, got diabetes levels down and meds, but not losing the weight, probably due to the steroids and pregabalin as they increase appetite. Still hoping for the weight to start dropping, might try the raspberry ketone pills.

Good luck with your weight loss.

Oh Sylvi, you are doing brilliantly. And glad to hear that you are getting more mobile, you must be really pleased with how it's all going. Hope the fatigue and fibro starts to improve soon. There'll be no stopping you then! Smiler xxxx

Well done, Sylvi, I'm so happy for you. I'll be cheering from the sidelines as we approach Christmas which may not be a great time of year for those of us trying to lose weight.

Some people will hate me for this, but I've lost weight while on steroids (though I'm off them now). It was sort of psychological my approach. My knees were so bad that I struggled to get on and off the toilet. That was an incentive to need to use it less and perhaps my appetite was also reduced by not being able to get out into the fresh air much. So these things are possible - I'm down from about 16 stone to 12 ish (high 12s).

Like Sylvi I think that having an incentive does help. It could be a weekly target or as in my case, the knee replacement. They were very nervous about doing it on me and (so far) its proved fine. The weight loss has really helped, and it is possible - that's really what I want to say.

Thanks Sylvi. I was surprised at how I did that loss, but it was one of the most positive things in the last two years! Have started learning to walk with one stick - gingerly!!

You keep well in this horrible weather (at least it is here). Time for soup I think.

Fabulous progress! Well done. Cheers Doreen
