How lovely that your colleagues were so thoughtful, it can be so stressful to return after such a long break. Another good news post, must be down to the eclipse!!
That's lovely to hear Ali. You must have been somewhat apprehensive, it's always difficult after an absence off work & even more so when you have an ongoing condition. I hope your colleagues continue to be as thoughtful as this week, but then they should understand shouldn't they! x
Hi,
Yes I was somewhat nervous and in many ways it was like starting a new job as we moved to a new building in my absence and my role is different to when I went off sick.
There are one or two that don't really get it but they're so out numbered that it doesn't really matter and I think I've changed quite a lot and am not so open to taking onboard other people's negativity and I've made sure that people know that I am appreciating their positive support.
I also have the luxury of not coming home and having to cater for a young family.... I do not know how parents cope with RA (or any other immune related condition), working and bringing up a family - they certainly have my respect!
All the best
Ali
I hope this continues, understanding can make all the difference.
