On the previous incarnation of this forum (No Smoking Day Forum) I was known just as Capitan (it appears that someone else on here has that name now as it said it was unavailable for me 🙁).
My transfer No Smoking Day (NSD) number is: nsd_user663_42220, but I haven’t been able to log into that to continue using it. Is there any way to do it, the old email I used is no longer accessible.
I was a member of Dolly’s Mixtures Quit Crew and I personally quit cold turkey at 11.30pm on 26th January 2012.
I have never smoked since 😁
I’m just wondering if any of the old crew (or forum) are still on here at all?
They would include Rochelle, Si, Gina, Becs & Dolly (whom the group was named after).
I also remember Karri, Fleetwood, Molly, Fi, Jenny, Donna & Haze from the old forum, any of you on here?
I’d love to hear from anybody who may remember me and hear how you’re doing, or from any current members who may want to talk to an “old timer”.
For those just starting it really is possible to free yourself from this habit. I did it after smoking for 31 years, many did it before me and you can do it to.
Just remember NOPE (Not One Puff Ever) and you’re home free 😁

Hey Capitan2012 I too gave up cold turkey and celebrated my 7 year anniversary there on Saturday!
I joined "No Smoking Day" forum back in September 2015 and then we got notifications that the community was merging with Healthunlocked network and officially moved over in January 2016. Any members on NSD community that didn't move over in the merge became absolute and given that nsd number you mentioned.
The only name I recognise from your list is Karri who was a great help to me when I first stopped but unfortunately she never moved over with the merge and think that was the same for most of the long time members....
It was a long shot, but I hoped some may have made the jump. 🤞🙏🏻
Is there a way of searching my old posts using that nsd number? I’ve tried the search function at the top but it brings up nothing, however I have stumbled upon some of them by accident. 🤔
I miss that forum and the layout, this layout doesn’t do it for me but each to their own I guess.
It’s nice to be free of the dreaded weed isn’t it. I’d never go back to smoking, even if they were given out free! 😁
I don't think I will ever smoke again but still get the odd craving which lasts a couple of seconds!
Yeah, think that was the feeling of most of old timers on the NSD community alright regarding the layout of Healthunlocked. I stuck with it as early on in my quit and found it a huge help! Shortly after we merged I became the admin of the community as it was very quiet. With the help of Nozmo , Hercu and Dizzylizzytaketwo we managed to build up a small but close net community and engagement and activity was good for the a couple of years, With members that quits stuck(myself included), they drifted away from the community as understandably they no longer needed it and activity was very slow and therefore impacted engagement with new members....
Now, I pop in every couple of days to see if any of the oldies check in and see if any new members need help but it is difficult to gain engagement with them....
You could try putting in key words of thread titles if you can remember them and see if anything comes up, also check 'related posts' which appears at the side of the each post you go into,
PS Congratulations on your huge milestone of 10 years smoke free, that is some achievement, It is definitely one of the best decisions and achievements of my life!!
Props to you Capitan on 10 years. I quit around the same time as Roisin 7 years ago. There's a calendar in the posts archive but I think it's hit or miss. I went into 2012 and found this.
Roisin, good to hear from you. I think it was British Heart Association before it become NSD, then HU. But I may remember wrong.
I was on two other sites QUITZA and Delphi. The first shut down, the other is very quiet. I think these sites work best when a group emerges together. I remember one or two people joining daily so there were 30-50 new people each month. Even if two-thirds bailed there was a sense of team.
