I was a 30 year smoker who is now 136 days smoke free and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done! I used Chantix to quit. I did the morning dose only and used it for about 5 weeks. There are times I’m ready to just pick up a pack and go back to smoking, but then I think about how hard this is and that I’d have to start over. Wish me luck please!

Hi Josd a warm welcome to our community .☺️
Just like you , I used to smoke for over 30 years .I quit almost 2 years ago with Chantix .I truly know I will never smoke again .😉
Before I said anything let me advise you not to consume any caffeine or alcohol during the first 5–6 months .
You are doing amazing .and please never ever let those intrusive thoughts take away this amazing opportunity to heal your body and to recover.
Smoking is the most horrible addiction ever created and permitted against human .☝️
One of the things I learn here is how this journey gets easier and easier as days go by 😌
So be patient just like our body was strong enough to take so much chemicals every single day , lets now give the chance to start a fresh new life 🌻our heart is important our lungs are amazing ,they deserve appreciation 😘
👍136 days is amazing if you need more advise please stay with us and also read the pinned posts on each page 👌
Remember at 3 months you want to continue distracting your mind .
Exercise is highly recomended .I used to breath deep 5 times slowly and that helped me too .For insomnia and to reduce stress drink herbal teas no caffeine only herbs just like camomile .mint sleeping tea mejorana or any relaxing tea ..thats what helped me incredible and calmed my nerves all the time .
KEEP IT UP !
Welcome Josd. All good advice from Karina. Stick to your goal and best of luck.
Great weekend to all.
Ahhhh GREAT for you!!!!! I do. Day at time!!!!
Well done you are doing great 😊
You can and you will do this. Old Jedi mind trick. Seriously you are doing it !!
Welcome josd and congratulations on over 150 days smoke free now (can you let me know your stop date for your accurate milestone badges).
Karina gave excellent advice there, remember too that recovery is a gradual process as your mind and body rewires, repairs and recovers. Be kind to yourself and stay close to us especially if struggling. Drink plenty of water and get some herbal supplements to help with any anxiety feelings.
