Hi all. Day 47!!! Yippee. So I went on holidays to see my sister. She is half my age. Her dad smokes in the house. I brought him Alan Carr’s book and although he has almost read it. He said it - you have got to want to quit. I felt so sorry for him when I was there. He was so owned by the nicotine. One after another after another. Smoking in the house wasn’t pleasant and all my clothing stunk. I had to wash it all. The nicotine stains all over his beard, it was yellow - ewww! His constant cough and believe me he sounds like there is something seriously wrong with him, but he lights another. He can’t breath, but he sure will smoke. It was enough for me. I was not even the slightest bit tempted. It was horrible to see someone not care about there health and choose smoking over breathing. He is broke but would choose smoking over eating. It really was quite good therapy for me, but I sure as hell hope that Alan Carr’s book get through to him. He is really trying hard to put himself in a the ground.

Great story. Congrats on your 47 days and well done. Well your friends dad is right. You have to want to quit. Once “we” have felt the freedom we want everyone too. Unfortunately it doesn’t turn out that way all the time. I took that Book to my moms and a few days later she gave it back to me. She didn’t get anything out of it because she didn’t want to. As the book says don’t envy the smoker but have pity on them 😥

Yeah, I hear ya Kstargirl - it really is heartbreaking seeing loved ones smoking, all of my family smoke except for my dad (stopped after a stroke) and myself. Hopefully, soon they will see the light to stop but has to be their decision, which if only they knew, would be the best decision of their lives.....

Anyway, 50 days smoke free for you today, congrats, you are doing great :)
