Day 2 done✔️. Not easy though

This morning I had such a strong craving -that went on for ages- I even went scrounging to find one. So glad I got rid of everything!

Was really upset and teary and felt myself going down

Got on here, read some posts and then got on the smiley mind app and did some 3min breathing sessions. Calmed me a lot.

Nowandforever...Days 1 to 3 is the very worst..After 72 hours there is no more nicotine in your body, all the Monoxide is out of your system and although the healing started right after your last cigarette it is now much more rapid....

As from day three the cravings might come in short bursts..your body and mind will be drained and you might think to replenish with vitamins and correct diet...

It is a tough journey but enjoy it and attack all the onslaughts....You can do it !!

Thanks Hercu,

That’s really helpful to know, have started day 3 now.

I take Vits am and pm and my diets pretty good. Need to get some brisk walks in though - get active.

Well done Nowandforever on day 2, that is great!

Are you still using the patches? If so, you are still getting the nicotine so haven't begun that withdrawal yet but have started the mental withdrawal, the feeling of grief, irritability and anxiety is perfectly normal and will pass soon.

Great plan to get in some brisk walks to clear the head, keep up the breathing exercises too, they really provide huge relief :)

Great strategy nowandforever! I’m now realising that being sad is going to be a part of my life for a little while! Smoking was such an emotional crutch for me! Still feel very raw as I deal with stuff! Keep going towards your new smoke free life! 👋👋👋

Thanks Frost, yes...emotional crutch for me too.

Going to take time to find new ways.

The smiley mind app really did help.

The rest of today’s been good, I did feel a sense of achievement getting through this morning. 😊

I’ll check out the smiley mind app too! That sense of achievement feeling and being proud of what you’re achieving is good! :) so pleased for you 👏👏👏💛

Definitely can relate to this. It's so important to flush/get rid of any cigarettes/tobacco. It's amazing how low you would stoop to have a cigarette when the cravings come - even to the point of smoking fag ends... yuk.

Tuesday night I had a relapse - in bed that evening I was going down.... felt like a complete loser... but something snapped and I got up and I pumped myself up, filled every cell in my body with “I can” and “I will” and now I’m

2 days in but this time no patches either.

It’s been easy so far. I’ve had real fun with the character Mr Nico and my kids and I have been in hysterics at times.

I have an invisible sword that I swing occasionally to remind Mr Nico who’s the boss and not to bother coming near.

Each morning I’m enjoying the extra time I have.... instead of an hour for cuppa and nicotine....its dog walks and chanting.

Mr Nico... you’ve met your match this time!
