So today I let my brother borrow my car. I get in my car after and it just smells awful. Then it dawned on me he probably smoked in it because twice today he "forgot" about my quit and offered me a smoke. Some how that smell has effected my tastes buds because I have tried mouthwash and everything but I still have that stale cigarettes taste in my mouth and I am absolutely peeved about it. No slips but all of the consequences 😲 at least it is good motivation not to have a slip 🤢😕

I’m sorry your brother is not being more considerate of you. You are doing great and you are obviously kinder than I am. I would tell him that it’s your car and there is no smoking in it. That is not being mean. It’s showing self care. Stay strong. Awesome quit.

Thank you dreambuilder. He and will be having a long talk about it because he knows he's not supposed to be smoking in my car. I love him but if he can't respect my property he doesn't get to use it. Eh oh well. At least I got that taster out if my mouth 😗 it was awful 🙄 how are you feeling I see you day one badge but by your last post I am guessing maybe you are closer to two months?

that lovely aroma,well what we though,

its amazing how a car can pass you on path and you can smell there smoking

or someone walking 20-30 foot in front of you and you can smell them

it does linger,but sometimes it helps to remember why you stoped,eew smell

hope your brother thinks before he lights up in front of you or in your car.

Thanks Lizzy. I feel better about it now . The fact that it smelled/tasted bad means that im not romanticizing as them as much( I think) but it is all gravy now but just no more in my car.

Sorry Cashierlady , thought I replied to you last night but not have hit reply!

Definitely put the foot down with the smoking in your car, house, etc... for all your smoking family and friends no matter what - I found it hard to be strict with my Mam when she called over and if she was travelling with us in our car, but she picked up the message soon enough as I just couldn't tolerate or stomach the smell, made me feel physically sick in the early days. That taste you were experiencing may be tar coming from your lungs clearing out - I got that bad and still do from time to time if out surrounded by smokers. Raw honey (jar stuff will do too) is great to take every morning and night to assist with clearing out the lungs.
