I'm on the third day of cold turkey, near the 72 hour mark. Does the withdrawal get better soon?

Bjan...Welcome, Yes it is very hard...you must try not to think about it and keep your mind busy...I know, easy for me to say...... but there is no way around, you must punch through...

It should ease off because all the nicotine is out of your system after 72 hours...Drink cold water and suck a few candy"s...Strongs !!

You’ve probably heard this before , well here it is again .

“ If I can do it , anyone can” !!!

Honestly mate , I smoked , vaped .. ever thought I’d quit .. done cold turkey , through being ill I quit .. as others said .. occupy your mind. Drink water The cravings pass in seconds ..

yes it’s hard but it really is seconds we’re talking ... avoid things related to it ..that’s hard as I am a coffee monster and still am ..but nicer coffee now with the extra money saved 😀

Just come on here if you get stuck .. be strong ..👍💪

Yes it does get better! Even though the nicotine is probably out of your system, unfortunately it could take your brain a bit longer to get out of the routine part of smoking. I’d say up to a week, and then it should be much easier.

Huge welcome to our community and congratulations on Day 3 smoke free, well done!

I too stopped cold turkey over 2 years ago and here to tell the tale! It is a roller coaster of a journey but my best achievement to date. By the end of the today, the nicotine will be out of your system, the mental battle then begins as our mind and bodies rewire, repair and recover. This is a gradual process but as time passes by, the stronger you become to deal with the withdrawals and cravings which too become less severe and frequent. Try to keep as busy as possible (I done up a 'to do' list that I put on the long finger for years and worked through it for the first 6 months of my journey). Drink lots and lots of water, fresh fruit and vegetables and a bit of exercise daily in the fresh air to clear the head. Also, read up as much as you can here of other members experiences and struggles and post often even if having a good day which by far outweigh the bad days.....
