Hi everyone, I'm new to the group, my name is Marie and I'm from San Diego, California. I quit smoking 63 days ago, after smoking for 30 years (I started at 14) and not everyday is an easy day. I came here for motivation and inspiration.

Hi Marie....Hartly welcome and huge congrats on your 63 days quit.... Yes it is not easy, the first few weeks is very difficult , but I can promise it gets better....and better...and better !

Yes, 30 years is a lifetime and now you will need to change the way you were used to....The habit will stick longer but the cravings will soon be almost gone....After a will you will remeber only the bad of a cigarette and not the nice... You will smell a smoker and be ashamed that you smelled like that for 30 years.... To be honest, the most difficult thing to overcome is to forgive yourself especially if you battered your body (and smelled) for 38 years like I did...!

Stay strong and keep us up to date and I can promise if you if you rediscover life the way it should be, it is amazing...!!

Welcome Marie-isa and congratulations on 63 days quit, you have come to the right place for support, inspiration and motivation, we're a close nit family here :)

I am heading into a year and half smoke on St Patrick's Day - done it cold turkey. It is a bumpy road but as every bump is overcome, the stronger we become.

Below is a pinned post of some helpful posts. Looking forward to your updates :)
