Welcome Harkut and congratulations on reaching your 1 month milestone, 30 days smoke free, that deserves huge recognition and celebration! Well done!
Lizzy has given your answer regarding finding the post you are looking for (thanks for that tip Hidden , didin't know what those boxes were for, every day is a school day!)
With regards bloating when we quit, this is normal as our diets change dramatically when we quit as everything tastes so much better, perhaps, have a look at your diet currently and cut down on carbohydrate foods that cause bloatness, bread, pasta, high fat foods, high sugar foods, increase intake of vegetables and fruit and drink loads of water...
Wishing you strength and success and look forward to reading your progress..
Thank you so much for your response. I will take what you said into consideration. I do understand our metabolism changes, slows a bit, after quitting. I was over weight most of my life so eating healthy and exercise has been part of my routine for some time now. Staying at my ideal weight for a few years now. Of course I'm concerned of gaining weight BUT I AM SO HAPPY TO FINALLY HAVE QUIT SMOKING!! Staying quit is way more important than a few lbs gained! Today I drank more water which definitely helped with energy and cravings.
Thanks again.
So happy to have found this blog! ❤️
Bloating after quitting smoking is actually very common...some would experience it as what is termed constipation. Especially for those that when they use to smoke...experience better bowel movements. Constipation is also listed as one of the common withdrawal symptoms in people quitting smoking. You may need to get over the counter medications from a pharmacist to treat the condition. Watch what you eat (eat more green vegetables, cereals...)...drink more water and it gets better with time.
Thanks smilingpreacher!
Water is helping! I'm smoke free 5 weeks today and doing pretty well. Mornings are the most difficult for me, feeling logy and a little emotional like something is missing which of course there is! Once I get going I'm ok. I just keep reminding myself doing the hard work now is making the future brighter 🤗
Well done and congratulations Harkut on 5 weeks smoke free! That is great! Keep it up!
