3.5 years on Christmas Eve....

I quit on my son's 17th birthday, June 24th, 2012, so Christmas Eve will mark 3.5 years since my last cigarette, outside a bookies in town while getting over yet another chest infection. In the time since among other life things, I've completed two marathons and eight half marathons, along with countless 10k and 5k runs. It's a life I'd never have thought possible before when I smoked (constantly), but also the smoking is something I rarely think about now. It's been a couple of years at least since I missed it, let alone actually craved a cigarette. All that passes, it goes away, it did for me anyway. If you're starting out, IT CAN BE DONE :)

Thanks for coming back to this site after so many years and posting these encouraging words AngryBear. You sure have come a long way and done so well. It's especially good to hear the cravings are completely gone. I can't wait for that to happen.

Have a great Christmas.
