champix: How good is champix? I've tried all... - No Smoking Day
champix
I find it very good, and havn't experienced any of the negative side effects that can be discussed online . They certainly take the edge off cravings.. I'm only 14 days in so cannot claim to be an expert on them but my personal experience of quitting in the past has always failed by with a couple days without Champix. If you're around in 10 weeks I'll let you know for sure 😃

It is a very effective aid for many, although it can have some quite nasty side effects for some people. Unlike NRT, which maintains your nicotine addiction whilst breaking your tobacco use, Champix works by breaking the nicotine addiction, and therefore smoking tobacco takes care of itself
Of all the quit aids, it is generally recognised as the one most likely to tip the scales in your favour, but as with any quit aid, it is not a magic bullet and will not do the hard work for you in terms of your mental attitude towards smoking - it will take the edge off the physical craves, but you've got to stay completely focused on your goal and understand your addiction in order to beat it - that's where the forum, books, and other online resources can be your saviour
Champix has been brilliant for me. I finished taking them last week and had no side effects other than the odd risqué dream......
I've used it twice and was able to give up both times with no cravings. The side effects generally affect smaller-sized women in my experience.

Very well said, and oh so true, Determination cones to mind, and a little help long the journey is good
I'm currently using Champix for the 2nd time and went back to it because I really have tried it all and it's the only thing that genuinely worked for me. I realise how hypocritical that sounds being on it for the 2nd time but honestly, the quit was so much easier. I'm a pretty small woman and had no side effects other than a bit of mild nausea in the mornings (helped by eating before taking it) and as far as I remember that was pretty much it. I'm sure I posted here quite a bit about it, not sure if you can find the posts.
Champix is a good option for withdrawal symptoms. I have tried patches, but they haven't had such a good result on me as Champix.
