Approaching Week Four

I've been here before, I'm going to repost a post that I posted last time round at around this time. I know, that sentence was a bit of a mouthful.

Well, almost time to say goodbye to week four. As I approach the start of my fifth week, I am finding myself in awe at the sheer power of this forum. I have seen people go from being on top of their cravings to almost caving in. A quick post on here and they receive replies offering advice, a dose of reality or some humour to cheer them up...whatever they need to stave the crave.

I feel really lucky that I have, as yet, not felt that low. I know that my day is coming and I thank those who are going to respond (giving me a swift hard kick to the butt to keep me on track:eek:) in advance. I admit, there have been days where I've wanted to light up again but spending some time on here reading posts and trying to help others has been enough to get me through. I really value the information contained in this forum.

For those who are ahead of me, you inspire me and encourage me. Please keep pulling me through.

For those who are just starting out, I hope that I can join the others ahead of you, and offer encouragement and advice when needed, I will help to pull you through.

Whatever stage of the quit you are at, one day to years of freedom (even those thinking about quitting as they are at the very start of the journey), I think you should all give yourselves a pat on the back and congratulate yourself. There would be very few people (other than other members here) who would do the same.

I found some phrases to help us get through.

If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again.

If you're going through hell, keep going.

You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

Challenges are inevitable. Getting back up however, is a choice.

Are you really going to let this defeat you? After all the work, sweat, and tears you have put into this, you are going to give up now?

You are not alone. Many have gone before you. Many will go after you. The important thing to keep in mind is that you need to keep on going.

I'm really glad to have everyone here to guide/support/mentor me on my journey. Whether we have crossed paths or not, I have probably read a post that you wrote and found inspiration. Thank you, everyone, very much for all you do, I very much appreciate it.

Superb Keith thanks for the great post.

I have gone back to some of my old posts from last quit 2012 and re reading them makes me think how the hell did I fall back in the trap.

As I think we all know easily done.

This quit the one for us all, Penthouse here we come !

Sorry Guys, I must have changed the discussion title without realising it before I posted.

I'm not approaching week four, What it should have read was "Approaching the end of week four".

Oops:o:rolleyes::eek:

Thanks keith for the post, definitely found inspiration in it to add strength to my quit and I too find some inspiration in others posts
