I am so chuffed that I have not smoked since Sunday night. Any tips for getting through day 2??
I am armed with chewing gum, bottle of water, healthy lunch and a heap of determination

Hi Camellia,
Yay- you started your own thread! You're definitely finding your way around the site.
It sounds to me like you have a formidable arsenal there already, with your determination being the most lethal weapon at your disposal. It certainly helps to drink plenty of water- ice cold if possible- as it both helps with the craves and to detoxify your system generally. Gum is good too and I found having a bag of vegetable crudities to hand at all times was also really useful. Eat plenty of fruit too.
Are you sticking with cold turkey? If you can, good on you. I knew I would fail if I tried so I used my local NHS smoking cessation service and used patches & lozenges for the initial month. It worked for me but every quit is different so go with whatever you feel comfortable with. All I am saying is don't go feeling like a failure if you need a few props for a time.
May your day go really well
Thanks so much everyone
