Day 2!

So it's a middle of a day 2 for me. The cravings maybe increased by 10% from yesterday, but they are still very manageable. My mood is still high, but I am amazed (and ashamed) at how smoking affected my life.

I am starting to think that this addiction is partly the reason for my procrastination all these years. Even with less than ideal focus and concentration, I am working better than ever WITHOUT DISTRACTION that cigarettes provided on a regular basis. I can't imagine how great will it be in a couple of months!

The day is long and I have tons more time to do everything I want. This wasn't the case before. I think that I did certain activities not because they were so pleasurable, but only to have an "excuse" to do something while I smoke. Pretty pathetic!

All in all, I am sure I'll make it through this day! :)

Hey Debbieh,

thank you very much! Yes, I've been using Tabex for the past 6 days. It seems to be working good, doesn't it? I don't live in England, but in Serbia and Tabex is available in every drugstore here. And it's like 6.5 pounds for the entire pack (you need only one).

I also slept pretty good last night, which was another (positive) surprise.

Oh that's unfortunate. From what I've read it seems that Champix works a bit better than Tabex, but comes with more severe side effects. It is indeed a shame that Tabex isn't available in the UK. Hopefully they will allow it soon! :(

Well done on cruising through Day Two, Kacmins. It sounds like you're really focused and that's half the battle. :)

Having more time on your hands is something many of us struggled with. Until you quit you just don't realise how much of your time you spent smoking. :o The good thing is that you soon fill up the time again and eventually find yourself chasing your tail just the way you used to .

What is the culture in Serbia smoking-wise? Do lots of people smoke or is it as socially unacceptable as it is in the UK now?

Thank you! Can't wait to chase my tail again!

Regarding smoking in Serbia, well...Take a look at this list on Wikipedia. It really is that bad. So yes, definitely socially acceptable, but at least not encouraged like before.

Many congratulation

You are doing brilliantly well :)

I look forward to learning more about your country over the next months :):):)

Thank you Jenny, I think I am doing well too! Feel free to ask if you want to know anything specific :)

Well done on your day 2, onwards and upwards :D xxx

Thanks :) Getting ready for day 3 now!

Blimey, Kacmins, I see what you mean. All the more strength to you then. It can't help when so many people smoke. Just shows how determined you clearly are. :)

I knew like about third of Serbia's adult population smoked, but I didn't know we were the worst, until I saw your question :D

In any case, I know a lot of people who quit in recent months and years, so I hope we are improving. I also work from home, so I don't have to see smokers if I don't want to. My long-term girlfriend never smoked, so that helps a lot as well.

Judging from your signature, you are doing quite well! Congratulations to you :)

Thank you Kacmins :o. You're doing pretty damn well yourself.

I do like the way the forum has members from all over the world. It's so interesting to talk to people based in different countries and so nice that we're all going through the same things and have the same goal. A real Global Village in fact! :)
