I know, Wishful thinking right! I weighed myself at the start of my quit, its been 3 weeks and i know i have been snacking more then normal, but i have WAY less of an appetite then normal, i'm only snacking out of sheer boredom! i got on the scale this morning, and i know weight can flux a few pounds daily or even depending on the time of day, so im not to concerned but its telling me i have put on 3 pounds, in 3 weeks.. if this infact is just flux from one day to the next..when should i expect to see a difference, like how far into your quit did you notice real weight gain? just curious.

Hiya can't help on that front because I am 5lbs lighter than when I originally quit back in October, still need to lose weight though :)

In the beginning though I put on about half a stone in the first few weeks and then it stayed that way for quite a while so it does level off after a couple of months as long as you don't keep eating excessively I have also started cycling again this is definitely helping.

Thanks guys! I was just curious, i know everyone is different for sure.

I want to be more active now that i have quit, but my lungs are not ready for that just yet, 3 weeks is not enough of a quit yet to be running a marathon : ) I dont usually struggle with my weight, im pretty healthy except that i use to smoke, but aside from that, and my love of beer, i am pretty good, so im not to worried, but its always nice to get advice !! to see a few pounds up on the scale is always a sad thing .. i am going to start being mindful of what i snack on! : ) Congrats to you guys, seems you have all done really well in the weight department! :p

Think it is up to you Jinxy :D obviously when you do not smoke you snack more and also of course get the taste and smell of food better; so eating becomes a very powerful and essential weapon to use against wanting to smoke again. If you are very disciplined you can keep weight the same or weight gain to a minimum.

I found after perhaps 2 months I noticed I was 5 or 6 pounds heavier and this went on up to nearly 2 stone heavier after a year  but I have successfully removed a stone in the past 2 months :)

I would say do not worry if you gain weight-quitting cancer sticks is what counts and you really NEED to succeed :D you can easily get your weight right once you have broken the back of addiction.

"Jinxy" i like it ;) by the way not to sound like a ditz, but whats a stone? im from Canada lol
