The cup that cheers.....

Despite smoking for 50+ years - I've always had a highly sensitive palate and nose. So, although I haven't had a cigarette for nearly 9 days - I haven't benefited from recovering taste buds.

But today, on a whim, I made a pot of Lapsang souchong tea.

It's got a wonderful refreshing smokey flavour. Almost like a nicotine hit - but not quite !

I'm not suggesting it's a miracle cure for giving up the weed - but the ritual of making the tea - in a pot - not cheating with a tea-bag - almost replicates the ritual of rolling-up.

It won't be to everyone's taste - but some of you might like to give Lapsang souchong a go.

It's helped me a little with Day 8.

Lovely post! It was like a Japanese tea ceremony in a paragraph. I can almost taste and smell the tea brewing. :)

Funny you should say that as I've got some super special loose Assam tea on order, just waiting for the postie to deliver it along with my coffee beans :) looking forward to trying it as I love Assam tea, mmmmmmm.

Congratulations on your 8th day, too!
