Hi everybody,
I'm back to the first day,
Deciding to stop an hour ago and hope it sticks, lasted 5 days 2 days prior to today. Got a lot to stop for and hope I can do it. My gf is pregnant and have to keep that as a motive. Really hope I can do it

You can do it
How are you quitting? Cold turkey, NRT or?
Take it an hour at a time and don't stress the future - you'll get free and what a fab motivation too!!
Hi,
Did you just decide like an hour ago im not smoking again?
I do think to give yourself the best possible start and chance
you need to be properly focused and prepared.

Hi, you sound very similar to me, I was an on/off smoker for about 10 years! My wife got pregnant which is when I decided I wanted to stop. I toyed with stopping for a good 6 months but didn't really want to, which made stopping impossible.
So what I decided was to firstly take up running (or any sport really) and gradually cut back on cigarettes until the birth, which would be my quit day!
My daughter was born and I've not smoked since and I've had no cravings whatsoever. My body did and occassionally does do something strange as it withdraws but for me if you can't stop for the benefit of your children then your in trouble.
I have one of the most addictive personalities ever and I managed it so I'm sure you can. And trust me it feels so good being smoke free.....
The key to quitting is having other focus's in your life......running was mine which was cemented by my daughter...
Good luck
Go for it!!! The first couple of days are a bit of a nightmare, but literally take each hour at a time. You can do it!!!
Go for it Dave
It does seem like hell in the first couple of weeks but you do come out the other side.
Well don't Dave for picking yourself up and starting again
I gave up when my granddaughter was born...she was long time waited for and I didn't want to stink for her.
I also didn't want to have carbon monoxide on my clothes which they say is very dangerous to a newborn......I just didn't want to take the risk.
It was a another good reason to kick the filthy habit.
It's a good reason for you too, stay determined and you,ll be fine.
Nice one The Dave
Really glad to hear you've taken the plunge again now. You have so many incentives to make this The One and having a couple of practice runs is all good training in what to expect and what your triggers are.
You'll get tons of support here- everyone has been through it no matter what stage of their quit they're at- so just hold on, keep posting, and watch those minutes, hours, days, weeks and months start to mount up.
