My name is Gemma, I'm turning 30 in March and that's my big motivation to quit for good. This will not be my first attempt but I'm determined to make it my last.
I have 2 boys and a non smoking husband who all want me to quit and I'm fed up hiding outside in the cold for them. My list of reasons to quit grows every day!
I've started taking Champix and have posted over in the preparation section hoping for a bit of cheering on.
Looking forward to getting to know you all as I finally get rid of this disgusting habit! x

I'm looking at what will be day 10 of my Champix tablets which is next Monday. I have the chemist appointment on Tuesday so I'd like to get a good carbon monoxide reading that day to give me a good start.

I'm preparing by reading lots of posts here, reading the Allen Carr book and watching the Allen Carr dvd repeatedly until I am brainwashed in time for Monday!
Look forward to buddying up!
I won't put any pressure on you, the day has to be right for you but if you do decide to do Monday I'll set up a thread for us on Sunday night x
YAY!! You're going to be all set then - Allen Carr definitely helped me last time and loads of people on here swear by him - Kat73 recommended some other books too.
If at all possible I'll do it, I want to be free of the fags!!
We're going to smash the fag monster into tiny bits x
Good luck with your quit Keith, I hope this is it for you. My record so far is 2 months and I used patches that time - they were excellent but I had some terrible dreams more like hallucinations really. They were better when I removed the patches at night - my husband didn't believe me until he accidently rolled on to one that fell off my leg one night - poor man!

I have 16 hour patches, my craving has not been that bad to be honest. I have even though about maybe after a week not using them.
