Making the decision to stop is the most difficult step in all this process, and we'll all help you stay stopped if you let us. There are other sites full of helpful information and I'm sure there'll be others along shortly to point you at specific information that's out there.
In the meantime, if you have a little time to spare and to take your mind off wanting to smoke, read the stuff and watch the videos at whyquit.com/
If money is a big part of why you want to stop, the second part of my own YouTube video (see my sig) has helped bring home to a few people just how much this habit cost us all!
All the best with your quit and feel free to use this forum as a sounding-board and a whingeing post if things get tough - we've all done it and you'll get nothing but support.
I smoked my last cigarette 1 Month, 6 Days, 2 hours and 51 minutes ago. I have £304.92 that I haven't spent on 1,299 cigarettes and saved 4 Days, 12 hours and 15 minutes of my life.
I will be using the niquitin CQ Lozenge and as well as herbal tablets to help with stress.
I did give up 5 years ago and stayed of for a year thanks to the allen carr book, but i have read it this time and it hasnt really had the same effect on me.
Hi sue, I will be using niquitin CQ Lozenge and as well as herbal tablets to help with stress, but I now have 4 ciggies left and until the lozenge's turn up I am going to have to go cold turkey (I dont want to buy another pack of fags). I have pre warned hubby about me quitting, as I have tried in the past to quit and I can be a real nasty madam to him I throw at him the fact that he has always been a non smoker and has no idea how I feel. so I have given him all the sorry's up front.
He is going to set up a standing order so the money that is not spent on fags will go into a savings account for me.
At the moment I am feeling confident.
You can tell I am going to be using this forum to the max

Welcome and good luck hopefully your first few days went relatively ok, I remember mine being stressful and I was a right royal mare, but it get easier.
I'm sure we all feel that it wasn't that long ago that we were on the first few days!!
Honestly, it does get easier although there is no denying you will have really tough times but they pass. I found just logging on here helped me tremendously even if I didn't post.
The main thing is that you've got to WANT to stop smoking and you are not doing it because you feel you ought to.
