Made it to Day 8!

YEEEEEESSSS!!!! I've made it to the first week of not smoking! Its been a very bumpy week but I'm so pleased with myself that I have stuck it through and have made it! Already feel so much cleaner inside. Don't ever want to go through the pain of days 3 and 5 again so the memories of those days will hopefully stop me from lighting up again as I never want to go through that again!

Also well done to everyone else who has made it this far! :)

    Nice one!

  • I'm just starting day 3, so it's good to read that by day 8 you are looking back at 3 as "the bad times". A few days isn't that long really is it. Is it? Teeth clenched...

This morning I realised I didn't need to go to the cashpoint just because my pockets are empty. I have plenty of petrol in the car, and plenty of food in the cupboards, and for 30 years it's been all about managing food, cigarettes, and petrol. Being a heavy smoker keeps you in survival mode, for ever.

In my experience day 3 was really hard (so was day 5) so if you do feel a bit rubbish today then try be kind to yourself, remind yourself that it is normal to feel like that and that it really will ease within a couple of days max. Good luck Declan!

  • Good work Gruff we have to keep soldiering on now :) x

  • Great stuff :D. Well done on getting to week 2!

  • Still smoke free. But had some slightly strong cravings this afternoon and also noticed that the foggy headedness feeling also came back.

Have counterattacked by eating lot of chocalate biscuits. Hope everyone else is having a good day!

  • Good on you Gruff :)

In my experience, there is very little that can't be resolved (or at least alleviated) by a chocolate biscuit or six. :D

You're doing great, you really are.

  • Fantastic

Well done on getting this far, just keep on going now. I know I could not go through the pain of stopping again so I just keep telling myself NOPE, so that I don't have to:)

Yes well done you! I also remember the first 3 days being just awful and I like you never want to go through that again. Keep on keeping on as they and you are doing just fine. A pat on the back is in order I think:)
