This is the second time I have quit. I am 52 and quit for 3 years in 2000 but restarted in 2003 when i was posted to Estonia for 3 months and EVERYONE smoked.
Going cold turkey this time and struggling big time! Today marginally better than yesterday but I'm at my most vulnerable when on my own.

Very new member myself but have been welcomed by many so firstly, you are not on your own on your quit - there are loads making the same journey albeit by a different route.
Secondly, I do know and understand exactly where you are coming from when you say you are at your most vunerable when on your own. But you don't have to be on your own - do what I intend to do and come on here and post because I truly believe that there will always be someone about here and just knowing that someone else is there will, hopefully, help you through that difficult time.
I am not bothered whether my posts get read or not (well OK it would be nice if they were but whatever) if it helps me to come on here then that is all that matters.
You aren't alone - don't think for one minute that you are alone - you yell, scream or shout on here because that way, I won't be on my own when I yell, scream or shout!!!!!! :D:D
I applaud you going CT I know how hard it is.The good thing though is nicotine will leave you quicker and by day 5 you should be completely free of it...so hang on in there.
Ahh............I know,Im the same...lol.It helps to come on here and post post post just to take your mind of IT!!...theres loads of tips and stories, just keep reading, you really are doing great
hey Dingwall, just gotta say, keep up the good work, you are doing great. In my opinion going cold turkey is great if you can do it as like others have said that nasty nicotine demon will get gone much quicker. I also completely agree with Max in that at first the days go by rather sloooowly but after a while you stop noticing them and realise 'hey i've now been smoke free for bloomin ages!'.
